PETITION: NO WIND TURBINE in Mass Audubon Society's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

Dear Friends,

We know that it is odd to have to petition the leadership of a Wildlife Sanctuary not to erect a bat and bird killing wind turbine, but these are indeed strange times.

Please sign the online petition even if you have previously signed another petition opposing Mass Audubon Society's (MAS) proposed wind turbine proposal for Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (WBWS).

It will take you only a minute or two and will really help.

PLEASE WIDELY DISTRIBUTE AND ASK OTHERS TO SIGN.

The link is:

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/petition-to-oppose-installation...

The petition language is:

We the undersigned are Wellfleet registered voters, tax payers, non-resident tax payers, visitors and tourists. We strenuously oppose the proposed construction of one or more wind turbines at the Massachusetts Audubon Society (MAS) Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary (WBWS). We formally request that MAS and WBWS cease any and all activities related to any further action regarding a proposal to construct any wind turbine/s at the WBWS and publicly announce their intention to do so.

It is very important that every adult who is 18 and over sign the petition individually. There is an option to list yourself and any comments you may choose to write as anonymous.

In Wellfleet, 61% of the land in the town is Cape Cod National Seashore, a US National Park. If you know Wellfleet, you know it is a uniquely beautiful slice of heaven on earth. If you have not visited, Wellfleet is a place I think is a must on your list of places to visit. Massachusetts Audubon Society's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Wellfleet. Unfortunately Mass Audubon wants to construct a wind turbine in their sanctuary. Please sign the petition to help stop this wind turbine proposal.

We are asking everyone to sign. People who live & vote in Wellfleet, please sign. It is critical that your voice be heard. Please also let everyone you know about this outrageous situation. People who own property in Wellfleet but do not vote in town, please sign with Wellfleet listed as your town. People who are frequent visitors to Wellfleet and love this town it is so very important for you to sign the petition and to let people know you oppose this wind turbine. People who  are tourists, your signature on this petition will help it be seen that tourists will not visit the town if there are wind turbines. Most people in Wellfleet depend on the tourist industry in order to make a living in Wellfleet.

Thank you all very much. Every signature is important & is sincerely appreciated.

There is a comment that is bashing climate change. The fact that our planet is heating because fossil fuels and pollutants are trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is settled science. Wind turbine manufacture and solar panel manufacture adds to  gases going into the atmosphere. The sham is that the manufacturers of wind turbine generators and solar panels refuse to build equipment that doesn't destroy the environment where they stand. Also, the energy push is the scam on the people. The fact that our living environment is heating up, caused by us and that electrical equipment is being place in our most cherished and wild life sensitive locations are separate issues. I'd like us to keep this real and not throw the baby out with the bathwater. I don't believe in organized religion but even Christians are angry.

The World Health Organization has finally come forward to declare that air particulate causes cancers. I live near a coal fired cement plant the makes cement for the wind farms. The photo shows coal dust being blown into the airs. I took the photo about a week ago.

Darren, We have been fighting wind turbines for 5 years. They are harmful. Maybe you don't understand...we are fighting Mass Audubon Society from putting the wind turbines in their Wildlife Sanctuary. They WANT TO DO IT! They are caught up in the money and global warming sham. We are trying to stop them! We work to try to stop wind turbines in NJ, CT, MA, ME, DE, NY. Sign the petition helps us stop another wind turbine.

Where were they when Maine mountains were being used for the needs of MA?  Now it affects them and they want assitance?

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
