More details emerge regarding Iberdrola's investment plans - And Yes - those plans include wind energy in Maine! This should be no surprise when the man that brought us the most liberal, corporate friendly wind legislation IN THE NATION - Our former governor, John E. Baldacci, is now Vice Chair of Iberdrola's holding company, Avangrid! And don't believe a word from any of those wind shills like Jeremy Payne - and others - who will tell you wind energy is going away in Maine! They are probably already on the dole!!

"The purpose of our direct action program is to create a situation so crisis-packed that it will inevitably open the door to negotiation .... Indeed, this is the very purpose of direct action .... It seeks so to dramatize the issue that it can no longer be ignored .... My citing the creation of tension as part of the work of the nonviolent resister may sound rather shocking. But I must confess that I am not afraid of the word "tension." I have earnestly opposed violent tension, but there is a type of constructive, nonviolent tension which is necessary for growth."

None of the public agencies and bureaucracies will take seriously any of your marvelous evidence about the follies and dangers of wind energy (including Nina Pierpont's, or Rick James's, or Glenn Schleede's, or God's for that matter) until -- à la Martin Luther King -- you demonstrate to them that they are going to have to take your evidence seriously.

The operative word is demonstrate. This is not done by reason or argument or a sense of fairness or justice. Sorry to disillusion you, and sorry to shoot down one of the cornerstones of academia: that "the truth will set you free" and "reason prevails over ignorance." Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King all knew the vital word in their struggle was demonstrate.

First change the law so generation and transmission are allowed ....then....

Always attempt  to have the opposition  lower their guard psychologically and operationally , infiltrate while resistance is low and control the high ground, literally.

This is their STANDARD GAME  ,and Business plan.Right now they are buying off more politicians and influence peddling everywhere. Look at Susan Collins right now, for example.

THEY USE PSYCH OPS to infiltrate and take over. Does this sound like war strategem? YOU BET IT IS.

THESE Wind Shysters ARE LOW LIFE SCUMBAGS  taking over your land in Maine. They need   operational confrontation in numerous forms  and  active opposition lest you lose the war.

Indeed , it is a war for the state.

Put up the obstacles and make them bleed every where you can, then hit back until you win!

I don't think it escapes any of us that US Federal DOE grants and Loan guarantees made for US projects aids foreign corporations! $700 million in US DOE 1603 grants to First Wind ($70+ million of that to the Maine Evergreen Energy project and they still have to buy power back from the grid to meet their power purchase agreements)- They were second behind Iberdrola in DOE 1603 grants. What a boost to a balance sheet! And it seems the US overlooks the foreign corporation part of the story! By the way the 1603 program was extended along with the investment and production tax credits - What a huge boondoggle!!!

1) Rewards in the form of favors to relatives and friends are not as obvious, but compensation none the less.

2) Term Limits has served to keep our legislatures "Uninformed" as to the gradual tweaks to get this type of foreign invasion.

3) Monopolization of our Power Grid Structure and pricing by a Foreign Company under Free Trade Agreements may not be viewed as such given the Affiliate perception that LD 1513 may provide in Maine, combined with other statutes in other states but this sure smells of ANTI TRUST Monopoly violations.

How much do you figure the key politicians get paid by these companies? I'm talking about those whose votes and influence are critical to the special interests getting their BS anti-citizen money making schemes approved. Also, I am not talking about allowable contributions. I'm talking strictly the against the law type.

It's time to STING these SOB's and lock them up. Thieving, greedy and criminal dirtbags  infesting select spots in the Maine legislature in my opinion.

Iberdrola seeks, through ownership of subsidiary companies, to control the entire energy structure of the Northeast. I understand this to be the modern equivalent of colonization. It happens to be by a Spanish based company, but the important issue is the monopolization of the energy requirement of an entire region by corporate interests that take advantage of incentives offered by other defeated economies. The pipeline issue that has people tearing each other's throats out in Massachusetts is being manipulated and engineered by Iberdrola. The politicians, who seek short term bribes, have enabled this cancer to manifest.

I doubt there investments will go beyond the $ amounts of subsidies and other welfare programs our U.S. affiliates would qualify for, since they are a foreign company as a whole............. Or would that be another qualification under "Foreign Aid" ?

Investment?

Please don't give them so much credibility. This is not investment but rather sticking one's snout firmly in the public trough. A foreign company looting the US treasury, raising taxes and raising electricity rates.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
