U.S. Congressmen Cite Evidence Russia ‘Colludes’ With US Environmental Groups

The sources include a former secretary-general of NATO, who is quoted by the GOP congressmen as saying:

Russia, as part of their sophisticated information and disinformation operations, engaged actively with so-called nongovernmental organizations—environmental organizations working against shale gas—to maintain dependence on imported Russian gas.

This anti-fracking campaign seizes upon environmental issues and health concerns that could be used to constrain U.S. drilling and fracking exercises, the letter explains.

Gazprom, a large Russian oil company, stands to benefit if Russian-funded environmental activism results in reduced levels of fracking and natural gas production in the United States, Smith and Weber tell Mnuchin. They write:

It is easy to see the benefit to Russia and Gazprom that would result from a reduction in the U.S. level of drilling and fracking—a position advocated for by numerous environmental groups in the U.S.

You got it right there Phineas, casting seeds on fertile ground. Lot of fertile in that B. S. they shovel around.

Look up the Tides Foundation in California. Take a look at the Soros employee "Center for American Progress"  who "moved" to South Portland from Washington so he could "Volunteer" to help write the anti Tar Sands Portland Pipeline rules. Why would the Russians want to keep the tars ands from the refinery in Spain that could relieve the Russian fossil fuel pressure.   It is all so open but if one blinds themselves they can't see. Did you know that the DOE estimates that there are 17 trillion cubic feet of gas right off Portland in the Mesozoic basins that the Canadians are tapping just over the Hague line? My head hurts.

RUSSIAN SHILL?

Sea Change Foundation: Grants for Climate Change

"There's also income from a vaguely named company based in Bermuda, which has drawn accusations from various conspiracy-prone bloggers. "

Beyond giving millions every year to its main grantee, the Energy Foundation, and well over $1 million a year to major organizations such as the Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council, and CAP, it also gives mid-six-figure grants to a wide array of other groups involved in energy or climate issues.

I have been pretty fed up about the absolute stupidity in Washington. There is a bubble where the rules of logic, physics, economics and practically anything else that makes sense bows to the the fact that in politics you can be  factually wrong yet win the vote. OF COURSE THE Russians and any one else with half a brain  screw with us THEY are not stupid and we have plowed fertile ground for what ever seeds they wish to plant through our insistence upon a mythically based logic system run by political priests to whom we cede our individual search for knowledge and by political constraint  thus freeze logical analysis to orthidoxical analaysis of the pontifications. See Kuhnn's . GO figure!

They pass along reports that Russia apparently funnels the money through a Bermuda-based “shell company” known as Klein Ltd.

Tens of millions of dollars are moved from Russia through Klein “in the form of anonymous donations” to a U.S.-based nonprofit called the Sea Change Foundation.

The money, the congressmen write, then is moved in the form of grants to U.S. environmental organizations.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
