They never had the financial capacity to fund Independence Wind from the start. The only way they can try to make millions from it is to remove money from tax payers all over this state and country, with feckless wind power scheming. Ask Mr. King what his plans are for this Green Power? Do you think he really gives a hoot concerning green power?
He will gulp his water, and refuse to state this fact; it is all about his green power, from your pockets to his. It is Subsidies…. Where he believes his future tens of millions will be created..
They decided to start their project with an incomplete DEP permit that indeed did not have financial capacity required by law, and were stopped by citizen legal action.
Ask Mr. King and his son, Angus King III, (Vice President, Merger and Acquisitions at First Wind), who coincidentally started his wind career in June 2009. (Just in time to help daddy do a merger perhaps?) what they are really in this for. GREENBACK, to his pockets, from Yours!
This inside dealing by Mr. King et al is the worst example of the Wind Rush, Wind Law in Maine. A constitutionally deficient legislative act that was ram rodded through a naïve legislature by inside POWER ELITE schemers on the Governors Task force like King.
And now , he is telling us there is no harm to citizens! The hypocrite.
There is physical harm by DEP part 375 Noise regs in Maine that were never designed to site wind turbines safely . If modified (and it must be) poorly sited projects will be halted in Maine, (and that means all of them using Part 375 as it stands now).
Disasters like Mars Hill, Vinalhaven and Freedom must not be allowed to propagate all over Maine.
Schemers, deceivers, and self – serving interests like King et al must be stopped.
Ask Ethan Hall, Wendy Todd and other citizen abutters of these turbines concerning what has happened to their lives because of this Wind Scam, by perpetrators like King et al.
Real science and free market economics will stop this, but for now, we best not listen to self servers like Mr. King, and best listen to real science from independent sources like Kamperman/James and Dr. Pierpoint and other science specialists if we wish to stop this insanity here. We need to listen to the affected citizens.
King knows that IT IS ALL ABOUT Federal SUBSIDY grabbing. He just wants his cut while the grabbing is good. It is all about screwing citizen rights for his greedy , self-serving interests, using feckless energy toys called wind turbines. It is about the Cap and Trade scam.
Mr. King is no better than the snake oil salesmen of decades ago,only now with a new twist .
What makes it even more despicable is how he is now USING the citizens that once elected him for his own financial aggrandizement. His deception here is openly palpable.
Mr. King, please hop back in your energy hog RV and leave the state, take your wind scam oil elsewhere !

Angus King is backed my a most mysterious shell company that goes by the name Bayroot. Not sure of how they got the name, but Bayroot is a college drinking game.
In any event, a shell company can be defined as: "an inactive corporation without assets that is used as a legal and financial entity through which another corporation can conduct certain matters".

Having said that, when one investigates King's mysterious Bayroot, all roads lead to a PO Box in Delaware or NH's Wagner Forest Management who front for Bayroot. Yes you heard right - a front company for a shell company that is backing Angus King's windcapades.
Well a similar shell company fronted by the same Wagner Forest Management is getting some real scrutiny in Vermont where it is involved in wind farms and all the attendant environmental disgraces. And it seems that everything is pointing to the YALE UNIVERSITY ENDOWMENT as the company behind the shell.

Note that the Yale College of Forestry takes great pride in fancying itself as one of the greatest forest stewards in the world. It would be a shame if that reputation were tarnished if the shell is blown off (such as by court action) and it turns out that King's backer is actually this do-gooder endowment. The most savage (beyond words) clearcuts in this state have been done by nameless shell companies. Who is hiding behind those shells? And why are they legal? Where is your expedited emergency legislation to regulate shell company power in Maine Governor Baldacci?
