KILLING MAINE WINS FIRST PRIZE IN FICTION AT NEW ENGLAND BOOK FESTIVAL

KILLING MAINE, a novel by renowned existential thriller author and Maine native Mike Bond, wins first prize in fiction at the New England Book Festival. The book is a fictional novel about the greed and corruption of wind power in Maine all of which is not really fiction as we all know! The book is available in a Kindle edition and in print on Amazon.

Mike Bond is Chairman of Saving Maine, an environmental not for profit founded to fight wind in Maine. Currently focused on helping the Unorganized Territories opt out of the Expedited Wind Zone by providing seed capital and technical assistance.  Saving Maine, has recently been working closely with Moosehead Region Futures Committee in the Moosehead Region, in their yeoman local effort which has resulted in 13 UT's and one plantation applying to opt out of the Expedited Wind Zone.  Petitions will be delivered to Augusta on  Monday.  In some cases, there was 100% participation in the UT!

Cleveland was bounced out of the Senate by Auburn voters last election.  :)

Yes, Angus is in there and accurately described as the leech on the nose of the Maine landscape that he is!  John Hinck's wife Cruella is in the book too!  Bond has done well in his characterization of the killers of Maine. But I don't think that Baldacci got fingered for being as guilty of killing Maine as he is in reality. Thank you Mike bond for advancing the cause of the good guys in such a powerful way!  get these books in the hands of everyone you know!!

Congratulation Mike and let us hope that the cancer you have exposed will hopefully finally help " Saving Maine ". The criminals are still arrogantly snubbing us all, but politic does change and so are those in power ,and crime finally gets recognized. Thank You.

I always thought that wind power is the gift that keeps giving to its opponents, the more turbines coming on line , the more the horror is hitting folks in the face ..Too bad the legislature was so corrupt that our cries for action against the wind law in 2010 , 2011, 2012 , 2013 were ignored.

Legislative malfeasance and malpractice, all the characters of this scandalous law are developed in this website .

Mike ,your book can only shake the  Maine politicians to their miserable core , and we have names, institutional knowledge , back up stored documents.

But let us recognize our hero, Rep Larry Dunphy , who at the EUT committee listened to our pleas , quite a contrast with the steely cocky John Hinck,  Stacey Fitts , Cleveland , Hobbins and others .

Be  reassured gentlemen that your role is not forgotten one bit  with the passing of time

Just finishing Mike Bond's novel.  A gripping tale.  The  character who was an ex-governor, wind plunder entrepreneur, and U.S. senator with the ridiculous little mustache reminds me, vividly, of Angus King. The character called "Senator Alfond" bears a close resemblance to Senator Alfond.  My late, very much lamented, friend "J" Dwight uncovered some of the information about the profitable complicity of the Natural Resources Council and Audubon Society with the "Wind Mafia."

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
