• Around 2020, it was decided that electric utilities that owned both generation and distribution of electricity were harmful to customers, therefore a law was enacted to strip generator plant ownership from existing investor-owned utilities(Decoupling) and let generation plants compete against each other in an auction market to improve quality and reduce prices to purchasers of electricity.
  • What the hell happened?
  • Not only is the quality of electricity at risk, in terms of reliability, prices are hitting the stratosphere!
  • Studying the past 20 years since the decoupling of generation and distribution, one thing stands out. Electricity prices in all six New England states are integrally coupled with natural gas prices.
  • Around the time of "Decoupling", a new market was formed that congregated transmission and generator operations into an all-in New England approach.
  • The Independent System Operator of New England AKA ISO-NE took over operations of the grid from Rhode Island to Maine.
  • The ISO-NE combined the six states of New England under one umbrella.
  • The ISO-NE reports on market performance and establishes rules among many other duties, but as far as being independent, they are not.
  • Not only do the stakeholder conglomerates (i.e. Generator Owners and Energy Marketers) steer their desires through ISO-NE, as their input is always a part of every ruling, but also politics has penetrated the ISO's independence that once shielded customers from soaring electricity prices.
  • About the time of the two events of "Decoupling" and the ISO-NE formation, natural gas-fired plants erupted all over New England and have since been a blessing at times and a beastly burden at other times. Volatility in prices marks this era of natural gas.
  • The market operated? by ISO-NE will break total cost records in 2022 and will shatter that 2022 record in 2023.
  • All the politicians and the people of ISO-NE will blame this on natural gas prices controlled by world events.
  • This is all true, but what world events have caused natural gas prices to soar? What events have caused New England electric customers to be at the mercy of natural gas to provide electricity?
  • What will the politicians come up with to lower electricity prices? What's their plan? How urgent does this dilemma have to become before the experts of physical sciences are allowed a voice in the halls of government. Is natural gas the culprit or the patsy of fake scientists of the media, the environmental cabals, the climate alarmists and the pigs of solar and wind developments. I would add China and Russia to the mix, but they follow the physical sciences for their respective grids while supplying the solar, wind, EV products and natural gas to advance the vision of fake energy scientists
  • An energy intersection has been reached. The brink of energy poverty has been passed. What is happening with electricity is a crime. The normalization of the grid as we once knew it has been crushed and it is very doubtful that a soft landing from present policies is ever coming. It is even doubtful there is any path of escape.
  • Natural gas and oil could make a supply comeback, lowering energy prices, but political policies will counteract their use, causing further crises
  • If gas and oil prices recede and political policies continue to phase them out of the grid scale electrical generation market, will individuals be forced to run household generators 24/7 because it costs less. Even with this, politicians will have made a personal individual "Carbon Tax Penalty"
  • Are the people prepared to give up their individual liberties as fully described in the United States Constitution?
  • Once the government starts playing with electric prices like it's a Vegas Casino roulette wheel, the ratepayers will always be the losers.
  • Circumstances evolving from Europe's and America's rush into wind and solar have spun ratepayers into the loser's bracket. Coal, Nuclear and oil-fired plants have been forced to close due to over subsidized wind and solar and over regulation by the government.
  • This has left natural gas fired plants as the last, existing standby, compensating resource. Demand exceeds supply. Supply costs go up. Consequently, electric prices rise. Rising electric prices bring rising revenue to wind and solar plants. A cycle of inflating/deflating electric prices is established. Each time fossil fuels gather enough supply to lower energy prices, the government, the environmentalists, the media, the big investment firms, China, Russia, educational institutions counteract to suppress any advancement of dense and storable energy.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
