Green China? The Country Could Mine 400 Million More Tons Of Coal

China could add as much as 400 million tons of coal capacity over the next two years, according to analysts at the consulting firm Woods Mackenzie.

That’s about a 10 percent increase in China’s coal production capacity, which is a stark contrast to the country’s talk about closing coal mines to reduce excess capacity and fight air pollution, according to Bloomberg. “For all its talk about cutting coal mining capacity, China actually plans to add more.” the news outlet reported on Monday.

Chinese officials made moves to shelve coal projects and increase the use of natural gas for heating — though that left many working poor without heat during the frigid winter. All of these actions are generally put in context of China’s commitment to the Paris Agreement.

China promised to “peak” emissions around 2030, decrease carbon dioxide emissions per unit of economic output and use more green energy. Woods Mackenzie’s analysis released Monday, however, shows that China is far away from a green energy renaissance like many environmental activists hope.

Will we allow Communist China to build and operate the largest wind project in Maine?

EDP Renewables has plans to build the largest wind project in Maine, the so called Number Nine wind farm in Aroostook County. http://numberninewindfarm.com/

This project was seemingly endorsed by Patrick Woodcock in 2015, then Director of Maine's Energy Office and now the Assistant Secretary of Energy for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. WOODCOCK%20EDPR.pdf

EDP is partially owned by China Three Gorges, which is state run by Communist China. In the article below, it can be seen that China Three Gorges is trying to buy the remainder of EDP.

In other words, China plans to control others' electricity and in the process, collect free money via subsidies. At the same time it is continuously building coal plants for its own electricity production and trying to get the U.S. to stop using coal and other fossil fuels via international agreements, completely lopsided in China's favor.

Strategy Summary

  • China slows us down with renewable energy folly
  • Increased U.S. electricity costs due to renewables increases our manufacturing costs
  • China burns coal, reducing its manufacturing costs
  • China, who is openly trying to take over world trade through such programs as its "One Belt, One Road" neocolonialistic plan wants to control others' energy production by buying their energy companies
  • China takes in huge revenues selling renewable energy infrastructure to other countries
  • China grows yet richer and others poorer as companies like EDP vacuum up our stupidly handed out subsidies for renewable energy
  • As our national debt grows, China, who owns some of our national debt further enriches itself
  • Additionally, there is significant evidence that some of these wind projects are undermining our military facilities. For example, Fort Drum has already gone on record stating that the Maple Ridge wind project (and others in Lewis County) are compromising its mission and operational readiness. In support of that, a top person at the National Weather Service wrote that the Maple Ridge wind project (and others in Lewis County) are having a very serious effect on multiple regional weather radars — which is also problematic to Fort Drum. One could perhaps wonder if a Communist China strategy is to try and locate wind projects near where they can monitor and interfere with US military operations.

China thinks global and acts local. An example of their local actions would be the Number Nine wind farm in Aroostook. As Mainers and U.S. citizens, do we really want to be this stupid?

China Three Gorges to offer $10.8 billion for EDP

China Three Gorges Corp. late Friday said it plans to launch a EUR9.07 billion ($10.8 billion) offer to acquire the almost 77% it doesn't already own of Portugal's main energy utility, a bold move to expand further into Europe's power sector that will likely attract heavy scrutiny from the U.S. and other governments in the West.

By consolidating its ownership of Energias de Portugal SA, or EDP, China Three Gorges, or CTG, would gain full control of Portugal's largest electricity producer, distributor and supplier. But it also would offer the Chinese state-owned energy company a bigger platform to gain exposure to EDP's power operations in several other countries in Europe, including Spain, France, Italy and the U.K. In the Americas, the Lisbon-based company is present in Brazil, Mexico and in the U.S., where it operates wind farms across much of that country.

If you thought what Google was doing to conservatives was bad, look at what it is doing in China

Sounds like the Orwellian dream come true. Anyone who wants to have a cell phone and look up information in China would become a target for communist China's odious secret police, and they will be looking.

Seriously, a device to track your every move and every question asked is right there in the realm of thought control, and amazingly enough, it was an American company, full of leftists, who made such a communist dream a reality. The old Stalin or Mao system of informants and knocks on the door at midnight was just too crude and inefficient. Today's totalitarians are sleek and efficient, with Google technology powering their capacity to zero in on just the most disruptive people, the better to keep the rest of society submissive, with the least possible effort. This is how code works, deducting, deducting, deducting, and why it's done so much for America's productivity revolution. Now it's being applied to totalitarians' needs, with Google the big pioneer in it.

Who would have thought it would be American technology and know-how that made just such a system possible? What's more, who doesn't think these people won't find a way around it to bring it here?

Business Insider explains why Google doesn't want anyone to know:

The American appetite to import people from Communist China is almost as mysterious as its insistence on welcoming in millions of people from the same culture who gave us 9/11. China, not Russia, is our real global enemy (Russia, whom the Democrats used to love with the same fondness as a close family member from the Old Country), and yet we bring the Chinese and other hostiles here to "study" without a thought given to the real intentions of some of them. Latest case in point:

Bombshell WSJ Story Confirms "Systematic And Methodical" Chinese Theft Of US Trade Secrets

The report begins by recounting a raid on DuPont's Shanghai offices, which interestingly the Chinese have since tried to pass off as but normal procedure and their prerogative

DuPont Co. suspected its onetime partner in China was getting hold of its prized chemical technology, and spent more than a year fighting in arbitration trying to make it stop.

Then, 20 investigators from China’s antitrust authority showed up.

For four days this past December, they fanned out through DuPont’s Shanghai offices, demanding passwords to the company’s world-wide research network, say people briefed on the raid. Investigators printed documents, seized computers and intimidated employees, accompanying some to the bathroom.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
