RE:  SunEdison and (“GPM”) class action; First Wind sold to Caliber Energy (CLBN), too: & CLBN was subsequently suspended by SEC

Dear Attorney Portnoy:

As you are aware, SunEdison bought First Wind and within three months following, SUNE stock value plummeted 71.4%.

Perhaps you are also aware that on
July 31, 2008 First Wind Holdings Inc. filed with the SEC for IPO
http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1434804/000104746908008563/a...

While it was noticed in several publications,
First Wind Energy Systems and First Wind Energy LLC and “First Wind” were sold to Caliber Energy that is Navajo Wind noticed on July 14, 2009. PINKSHEETS: CLBN
Please note that by February 7, 2014:
The SEC determined that Caliber is a sham after Caliber announced a new office in
 Xinjiang China, representing
company headquarters in Atlanta, CA, and Atlanta, Georgia, and in Beverly Hills.  Navajo announced it had  taken delivery of 53 wind turbines for $65 million for a project in China.  While the company, according to the SEC that suspended Caliber, Calibre and Navajo, was a rented only mailbox and outgoing only line. (see details below).

By February 7, 2014 Caliber and Calibre were among 255 shell companies suspended by the SEC in a crack down on “pump and dump” schemes.

Patrick Wood III  Director of First Wind Energy Systems
Mr. Wood serves as a Director of TPI Composites, Inc., First Wind Energy Systems and has been a Director of Range Fuels Inc. since June 2008, Quanta Services Inc. since May 24, 2006, and Sunpower,Inc. since September 2005. He served as the Chairman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas from 1995 to 2001. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and J.D. degree from Harvard Law School.

Please note that pertaining to the above interests, named companies with which Patrick Wood is associated--
Quanta Services is under SEC investigation related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.  The “SEC is looking into [Quanta Service] its operations in foreign countries, including South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.”
If history is an indicator of the future, green companies for which Patrick Wood III serves as Director, like the bankrupt SunPower ($1.5 bn.), bankrupt Range Fuels ($80 mil., also reported $300 mil.), and bankrupt Xtreme Power (with at least ($600,000 in stimulus grants), the failure of green energy companies with which Wood is associated will likely continue.

Please note that Patrick Wood, III is listed as Director of "First Wind Energy Systems" (above), and that, next link, First Wind Energy Systems was sold to Navajo Wind Energy Corp, formerly Caliber Energy Inc., noticed July 14, 2009:

SEC 2/07/2011 about Caliber (that bought First Wind announced 7/14/2009):

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA
Case No.:
SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION,
Plaintiff,
- against -
WALL STREET CAPITAL FUNDING LLC,
PHILIP CARDWELL, ROY CAMPBELL, and
AARON HUME,
Defendants.
COMPLAINT
Plaintiff Securities and Exchange Commission (“Commission”), for its Complaint against
defendants Wall Street Capital Funding LLC (“WSCF”), Philip Cardwell (“Cardwell”), Roy
Campbell (“Campbell”), and Aaron Hume (“Hume”) (collectively “Defendants”) alleges:
SUMMARY OF ALLEGATIONS
1. Defendants are stock promoters – they make their living repackaging “news”
released by penny-stock companies and distributing it along with their own, always optimistic
commentary.
Case 1:11-cv-20413-DLG Document 1 Entered on FLSD Docket 02/07/2011 Page 2 of 51
“Similarly, from January 2009 to November 2009 Defendants created and
distributed promotional material for Caliber Energy, Inc. (“Caliber” or “CLBN”), which
purported to be an Atlanta-based developer of wind-energy projects in China. Again, despite a
series of effusive announcements about its expanding business, Caliber’s headquarters were a
rented mailbox in a UPS Store and its phone line was an unattended, outgoing-only line.”

Please review the attached document that provides greater detail about Caliber Energy AKA Navajo Wind's purchase of First Wind (purchased by SunEdison).

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
