Downeast Wind has submitted a permit to MEDEP for a 30 turbine, 126 MW project on blueberry barrens owned by Wyman in Columbia and the unorganized areas of T18 MD BPP and T24 MD BPP in Washington County.
Downeast plans to deploy Vesta 126 - 3.45 MW turbines - they will be the largest land based turbines in the US - hub height 472 ft w/nacelle, blade length 202 ft. The Vesta 126 has been deployed as an offshore application in Europe.
Tonight (6 pm) they will hold the obligatory public meeting to discuss the details of the permit and other elements of the project and respond to participant questions. It will be available online or by phone.
