Democratic candidates for governor talk in Augusta

"Democratic candidates
for governor
talk in Augusta"

The Kennebec County Democratic Committee hosted the event as a kickoff to the party's campaign to return to the Blaine House following the two terms of Gov. Paul LePage.

AUGUSTA — Democratic candidates for governor agree that Maine should have better health care, a better economy, more broadband internet service and better opportunities for all Mainers.

Six of the eight declared Democratic candidates for governor gathered on Thursday during a forum in Augusta to talk about their plans and goals for the state if they are elected to replace Gov. Paul LePage in a little more than 13 months.

Boyle said as Democrats, everyone at the event was in favor of clean energy, and Mills said it’s important to wean ourselves off fossil fuels and increase use of electric vehicles. Eves said clean energy, especially solar and wind power, present an opportunity for the state “ripe for picking.”

And just where do you think the electricity for those electric vehicles is coming from Janet?

Janet (Jam-it) Mills? Even some respected Dems do not support her after her statement "Who needs Rights, or Liberty's". Once called by the Left, Jenocide Mama in some circles.

She is done in DC for my vote.

From inside sources she is considering it. I worked very closely on all her past campaigns except the last one. She isn't due for election until 2020 but may consider taking LePage's place in 2018 and then calling it quits. I would hope there is someone else a little more conservative to face her in a primary. The ONLY way she would get elected at this point is as a Democrat. LOL.

RHINO Sue, Really? A King understudy ? I believe she needs the democratic vote to get elected as a Republican this time for any seat, and it may take ten of those to even pull off a replacement vote for a TRUE conservative. Not one word on/about all the BS from the left this past year.

While we might have a chance at another Republican Governor if Senator Susan runs, She won't be another LePage. She is so far left on the clean energy bandwagon she might make it tip over. Our only hope would be Poliquin if he will run. The southern part of the state is just an extension of Massachusetts at this point and only we in the North can make an attempt to stop it. We did it with our 1 Electoral College vote for Trump in the last election, so maybe we could pull of the vote of the century again. All the Dem candidates are liars and frauds like Hillary.

Janet Mills makes a claim for Clean Energy, however in her efforts against the Penobscot Nations attempt to elevate Maine's Clean Water for the Penobscot River and possibly the entire state, she falls short of being a true Environmentalist of any kind. Including assisting in preventing expansion of Transmission lines, Solar (which even if not in Maine to the same extent, is Toxic to the Earth) or Ridgeline destruction by the Fraudulent Wind Industry. A quote of Caution from a Penobscot River Event this summer stated, to beware Who you Elect not the Party you Elect.

Former Environment & Natural Resources Chair Jim Boyle said as Democrats, everyone at the event was in favor of clean energy......

Meanwhile - look at his clients. And these were his clients when his company was making decisions affecting wind power in Maine. Revolting.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
