A Wind Power Expert's Opinion on the Presidential Election

I respect this person immensely as he deals in empirical study.

We’ve been asked numerous times about the Presidential election.

It’s quite easy to lose focus as to the real choice here, as both candidates have made numerous stupid statements, and both have done quite a few inappropriate things.

(BTW, in our view no third party candidate has a realistic chance of winning, so we have to make a selection between the imperfect options we’ve been offered.)

The fundamental question is: are you happy with the direction the country is going regarding —

the economy,

education,

energy policy,

health care,

law and order in our cities,

security in our schools,

our national debt,

federal agency regulations,

the influence of lobbyists,

our freedoms as citizens,

immigration,

foreign trade,

the UN,

one world government,

fighting ISIS,

supporting the military,

national security,

etc.?

If your answer is YES, then you should vote for Hillary Clinton, as her basic position is to continue on our current direction.

If your answer is NO, then Donald Trump is who you should vote for, as his position is to change what we are doing in these issues.

In our opinion it’s a mistake to get distracted by personal attacks and other commentary, as the direction question is the underlying choice the election comes down to.

We ask you to join us in prayer that God — who has protected our country in prior trying times — will overlook our disrespect for Him, and help us out once again.

If there is any question about who benefits from the U.S. mandates supporting the wind industry ..... check this out:

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-11-06/vestas-shareholde...

"“If Donald Trump wins, I have no doubt that the Vestas share will fall the next day,” Jacob Pedersen, chief of equity analysis at Sydbank, said in a phone interview. “And if Hillary Clinton wins, the share will rise” as “some of the risk of a Trump win has been priced into the share.”  ........ "Vestas is the Danish company with the most riding on the outcome of the vote, according to Pedersen. Bloomberg Intelligence estimates that about 41.3 percent of Vestas’s revenue last year came from the Americas."

Happy Election Day ............ !

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
