You are so right, Marsha. We are so caught up with wind power research we fail to realize most people give it very little thought, wondering why all the fuss. We must impart to the voters that this ordinance prepared for their vote is a fair ordinance, allowing industrial wind as long as the comfort of the citizens is not adversely infringed upon. With the many ridgelines in Rumford, a wind project could be proposed that may impact almost any citizen of Rumford. This is truly a fair ordinance and friend or foe of wind development should embrace it. I will write something to this point in the Rumford Falls Times. As for my take on wind development: It's a energy producer that negates any chance for renewed prosperity in this country.
Having said that, I would vote for this ordinance because it was developed to maintain a comfort level for the citizens and therefore eliminates them from having to take an active role in the event these turbines become an overwhelming determent to their normal way of life. The numbers within the ordinance are adequate in doing this.
