Welcome to the CTFWP Margaret !
As a resident of Rangeley you will witness as you travel up and down route 17 the result of the maddening policies now allowing expedited permitting of wind turbines .
Going south past Byron , and over a stretch of 8 miles the methodical and legalized destruction of the magnificent ridge of Flathead Mt and Partridge Peak has been accomplished and 400 feet tall , steel turbines , imbedded in the mounatin ridges with 30 feet long steel poles and sitting on one acre of concrete are despoiling the viewscape.
Yet the wind developers want more, much more. In fact they want around 1800 turbines by 2020 !
You are very right to be concerned !
Please review the posts on the website as there is a tremendous amount of information leading up to the HOW and WHY of this insanity .
As a rather small group of us has been fighting this for the past three years at many levels, the opposition has labeled us a "small vocal minority".
But there is a collective consciousness now rising in Maine that will prove them wrong.
