Vermont’s Verdant Vistas: what ‘green’ should be …

****

Vermont is the place where dreams of peace and tranquility come true. Rolling waves of verdant hills, interspersed with fertile valleys and filled with a tenacious band that endure bitter winters and short bursts of what those in America’s North-East think passes for ‘Summer’: that’s Vermont.

But the element that’s brewed to the surface in the Green Mountain State– and that’s now reached boiling point – is unbridled anger.

Vermonters are set upon by the same cowardly, callous and criminal chancers found all around the Globe – that appear from nowhere – like flesh-craving zombies – slobbering at the thought of massive and (seemingly) endless subsidies.

Wind Law = Legislative Malpractice to the nth degree.

Comment by Monique Aniel Thurston on February 3, 2016 at 10:59am

It is preposterous to even think for  a minute that when the EUT committee was presented with the WIND Law in 2008 , they did not even QUESTION the horror it was going to spread on Maine and UNANIMOUSLY voted for the bill !!! Threat ? Bakshish ? Promise of a revolving door job ? Party intimidation ? NOt one individual revolting against this bill who was going to defile the entire state .

With Tux Turkel's excellent article in the PPH, now's the time to plan a march on the state house and put a full page ad in the PPH and BDN.

I have emailed to Naomi Shalit , she said at this point too long of a time had elapsed between Baldacci heinous law and his position at Iberdrola , I was disappointed with this answer as as I believe this information is really fit for the public interest. More will follow as we receive feed back , but please do send testimonies as I have suggested expressing your outrage , it is in your hands . Nothing happens out of a vacuum, please see my previous blog.

check out the history of the Aral Sea:

and recognize the similarities between the Russian attitude to environmental exploitation and what is happening to the our environment through its exploitation for junk (wind and PV solar) energy. It is a short and informative article. The parallels are clear.

We don't. We have to find a way to put this in people's hands ourselves, the old fashioned way. Penny savers and full page adds, perhaps. The Internet, over and over again. The mainstream media is in bed with the pols and the wind crooks. The word is out, "no anti-wind stories allowed". Crooks make mistakes. They are arrogant. They can be caught.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
