The Maine PUC and Efficiency Maine Trust Decision Wording That Should Outrage Electric Customers

This is a April 2026 determination made by the PUC commissioners, Bartlett, Sully and Gilbert that seems to say that EMT is saving the ratepayers $46,311,087 in 2027 and $60,594,815 in 2028. This is garbage! This money is funds that the Biden Administration granted and have dried up under the Trump Administration.

These Commissioners, along with EMT are willfully misleading the public.

EMT should not be receiving a cent from Maine ratepayers. They are still rebating EVs, EV charging stations, heat pumps, social conditioning of private electricity usage and contractual agreements with large corporate entities.

The PUC engages in contractual agreements with solar, wind and battery developers, claims that renewables will reduce rates and one commissioner is the driving force behind the ISO-NE proposed $2 billion plus transmission project from Pittsfield, Maine to the New Hampshire and beyond to allow fickle wind to contaminate grid operations in New England. The PUC should be giving their support for additional natural gas pipeline capacity which will cut natural gas prices for New England electric plants in half.

HERE IS THE COMMISSIONERS' CORRUPT DECISION:

"The Commission concludes the Trust’s requests are consistent with the

Efficiency Maine Trust Act. The proposed changes will allow the Trust to fund cost-
effective measures and to offset the need to collect ratepayer funding for FY 2027 and

FY 2028. For these reasons, the Trust’s March 12, 2026, request for approval of the
significant changes identified in this Order are granted, and the Commission approves
the requested overall revised Electric Procurement budget of $61,515,818 in FY 2027
and $72,294,756 in FY 2028. This reflects EMT’s proposed significant change,
decreasing its requested budget by $46,311,087 and $60,594,814 respectively."
