The Maine Democrats and Efficiency Maine Trust combine to destroy the livelihoods of Maine people

Efficiency Maine Trust (EMT) in cahoots with the Democrat ruled legislature and executive branches of Maine government have designed a path to destruction of Maine, one citizen at a time.

EMT's heat pump program commandeered the removal of an existing heating system with an enticement enabled by money all ratepayers pay through their monthly electric bills. This is nothing short of Government Authoritarianism and now with a Central Maine Power(CMP) proposed project that is a concession to the Democrats outcries of the costs of reparations of electric infrastructure caused by storm damages and demands of plans to strengthen the grid, people are between a rock and a hard place with cold weather about to drain their incomes.

There were some members on the EUT committee, Democrats, (a legislative committee that oversees regulations of energy matters) that declared the rising cost of electricity in Maine on exorbitant storm damage restoration payments to CMP.

Hating CMP and blaming all the increased costs of electricity on them has been the tactic adopted by committee Democrats to distract electric customers from the real reason for accelerating costs, renewable energy programs, The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (A Carbon Tax) and Efficiency Maine Trust (a multi-million-dollar bureaucracy that has undertaken a promotion to electrify heating and transportation systems.

Read the following comment from a mobile homeowner to the Maine PUC in response to CMP's proposed project to strengthen the grid due to a law established by the Maine Legislative and programs established by Efficiency Maine Trust....................................

" CommentTextI respectfully request MPUC to deny CMP's 5 year rate increase. I signed up for Efficiency Maine's whole home heat pump pilot program for mobile homes last year. This required my furnace to be removed, have a whole home heat pump installed, and not use any other method for heating my home. I am required to be in this pilot program for five years. I was assured by the gentleman who did the initial inspection and testing of my home that this would save me so much money in heating costs. Last winter the increase in my electric bill was just about equal what my average heating oil cost would have been based on average oil used in a winter multiplied by last years K1 price, and I was keeping my house temp uncomfortably colder than I normally would. I am locked into this program for the next 4 years and not allowed to use any other heat source. With the proposed yearly rate increases, this pretty much guarantees there will be no savings over K1 heating oil and likely turn out be much more expensive. I appreciate CMP wanting to modernize the electric grid so there will be less power outages and realize that costs money. That's understandable, however there have been multiple increases over the years blamed on needing to clean up after storms, and I don't recall ever receiving a notice saying the costs of storm cleanup have been recouped so the rates will go back down. Now as part of this proposal, CMP doesn't even want to allow a review of storm recovery costs before they are passed along to consumers. That's unacceptable. There needs to be accountability. Upgrades should have been done all along with all the increases Mainers have been charged. The proposed increases seem excessive to me especially considering all the increases over the years that should already have been used towards upgrades. Thank you for your time."
