U.S. Supreme Court limits EPA authority to set climate standards for power plants

Published Thu, Jun 30 2022

The decision is a major setback for the Biden administration’s agenda to combat climate change, specifically the goal to zero out carbon emissions from power plants by 2035 and cut in half the country’s emissions by 2100.

Key Points
  • The Supreme Court on Thursday limited the Environmental Protection Agency’s authority to set standards on climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions for existing power plants.
  • In its 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court said that Congress, not the EPA, has the power to create a broad system of cap-and-trade regulations to limit carbon emissions from existing plants in a bid to transition away from coal to renewable energy sources.
  • The court’s ruling on the case, West Virginia v. the Environmental Protection Agency, is a major setback for the Biden administration’s agenda to combat climate change.

Matt Schlapp, chairman of the American Conservative Union:

The U.S. is being deliberately dismantled by the Biden administration and Democrat Party, Schlapp held.

“There are a lot of people who are still just assuming that that is just like we’re going through a temporary kind of emergency situation,” he stated. “That is wrong. This has been a very intended path that we’re on to destroy the family, to destroy schools, to not educate the next generation of kids, to make America weaker, to make America surrender to global interests, to weaken the economy, to make people think that it’s global institutions that will solve their problems and not their own government.”

All of Europe was bragging about how green it was, because it had built so much wind and solar.

All went well, as long as Russia provided an abundance of low-cost pipeline gas.

But EU bureaucrats wanted to LOOK much greener

They told EU countries not to sign long-term pipeline gas contracts with Russia, because that would send the wrong climate fighting message.

Russia provides pipeline gas only to countries with long-term contracts

Russia has no contract obligation to provide gas to the SPOT market, or to fill gas reservoirs for winter use.

Because of sanctions, euros and dollars are useless to Russia

As a result, Russian gas is being paid for in rubles

Siemens, Germany, sent Russian gas compressors for overhaul to Siemens, Canada.

But Canada does not want to return them, “because of sanctions”

Russia responded by cutting Nordstream gas from 100% flow to 40% flow, to make sure Germany would act to get the compressors shipped to Russia, ASAP.

Germany is despairing to quickly sign long-term LNG contracts with Dubai, etc.

However, Dubai is not that interested, because RE bureaucrats in Brussels will tell Germany to make do with unreliable and expensive wind and solar, which would screw Dubai with plenty of LNG and no one to sell it to.

Let us see who will do all the howling?

I think the Dem/Prog hot heads will keep their mouths shut, as otherwise they are out on November 2022.

The US people are fed up with all their bullshit, that increases costs for everybody and will have zero effect on the climate.

The silver lining here is that every move like this will make more and more Americans take notice that the globalists' installed puppet regime is about trying to destroy the United States of America. What say we don't let them do this?

Biden Takes Aim at America’s Largest Oil Field, Threatens to Stop Production, Sending Gas Prices Soaring
This would be just one more move from Biden’s administration to impact the lives of every American by reducing the fuel supply and causing gas prices to soar well beyond Biden’s record of $5 per gallon.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
