Wind Energy leaseholders- Blood Money for cooperation and partners in crime
Leaseholders are being asked to sign binding 40 year sign contracts without receiving honest disclosures from developers. In addition if signed, leaseholders are unknowingly chocked with subtly stated, but very binding nondisclosure agreements.
Contracts are filled with warnings to leaseholders that they can’t interfere with wind energy operations or impact their profits in any way. This means Silence and full cooperation are required.
Contracts do not disclose that carcasses totals or mortality to species and will likely be substantial. These totals will include all bird species including raptors, eagles, waterfowl and possibly endangered species. Species that add to the quality of life for county residents will be killed off, habitat abandonment will occurs and a cycle of death will set in when new inhabitants attracted to this habitat, are also killed off.
Developers will claim to leaseholders that there will minor mortality impacts to species. But all these statements come from fraudulent “according to researchers” non-scientific numbers, that routinely hide over 95% of mortality impacts to species.
Leaseholder contracts do not disclose impacts to crops from the turbine related loss of pollinating insects.
Contracts do not disclose the misery infra-sound brings to residents, yet they bait leaseholders with contracts wanting to build turbines 1200 ft from occupied buildings.
Contracts do not disclose loss of property values from wind energy developments. Instead developers hide behind fabricated studies and lie about it.

It would be better to allocate resources to become much more energy and resource efficient, and as a result use less energy and resources, and as a result have less CO2 emissions and other emissions relating to energy and digging up resources.
However, certain folks in the US government are not so interested in the environment.
Russia-hating, extremists in the US State Department and US Congress have been using NATO to pressure first the USSR, then Russia.
They have been deluding impoverished, corrupt Ukraine with future membership in the EU and NATO, since 1990
They have been weaponizing Ukraine since the US-instigated Color Revolution/coup d’etat in 2014
Millions of Russian-speaking Ukrainians, mostly in East Ukraine, decided not to support the Kiev government.
The US instigated Ukraine not to implement the Minsk 2 agreements, to keep the pot boiling
The US and UK supplied huge quantities of defensive and offensive weapons, plus military training personnel to Ukraine, so it could “defend itself”
Russia made certain demands regarding:
1) NATO encroachments beyond East Germany starting in 1997 (after pledging not to do so in 1990)
2) The indivisibility of Russian and European security.
The US/UK-led NATO rejected the demands, and offered to talk about important, albeit peripheral issues.
Ukraine hot-heads floated the idea of Ukraine having an “Iron Dome” similar to Israel, and reacquiring nuclear weapons
Russia finally reacted. The result is a shooting war in Ukraine.
The EU is partially at fault, as it did not assert itself regarding the Kiev coup d’etat in 2014
The EU decided to become an aider and abettor of US policy goals regarding Ukraine in 2014, and onwards

When a windmill catches fire in Germany, the fire brigade shows up to watch -- that's all they can do, in Germany or anywhere else. Even in "enlightened" Germany, it's not legal to erect a wind turbine within five kilometers of a village or woodlot.

Highly subsidized wind turbine system owners lease land to erect their wind turbines.
The land owners have to sign a document that prohibits them from disclosing to anyone the number and kind of birds killed by the wind turbines

Pro RE folks always point to the “price paid to owner” as the cost of wind and solar, purposely ignoring the other cost categories. The all-in cost of wind and solar, c/kWh, includes:
1) Above-market-price paid to Owners
2) Subsidies paid to Owners
3) Owner return on invested capital at about 9%/y
4) Grid extension/augmentation
5) Grid support services, including fees for:
- Capacity availability (i.e., plants are fueled, staffed, kept in good working order, ready to produce on short notice)
- More frequent plant start-up/shut-down
6) Future battery systems
Comments on table 1
- Vermont legacy SO solar systems had greater subsidies, up to 30 c/kWh paid to owner, than newer systems, about 11 c/kWh
- Wind prices paid to owner did not have the drastic reductions as solar prices.
- Vermont utilities are paid about 3.5 c/kWh for various costs they incur regarding net-metered solar systems
- "Added to the rate base" is the cost wind and solar are added to the utility rate base, used to set electric rates.
- “Total cost”, including subsidies to owner and grid support, is the cost at which wind/solar are added to the utility rate base
- “NE utility cost” is the annual average cost of purchased electricity, about 6 c/kWh, plus NE grid operator charges, about 1.6 c/kWh
for a total of 7.6 c/kWh.
- “Grid support costs” would increase with increased use of battery systems to counteract the variability and intermittency of increased build-outs of wind and solar systems.
NOTES:
1) NE wholesale grid price averaged about 5 c/kWh or less, starting in 2009, due to low-cost CCGT and nuclear plants providing at least 65% of all electricity loaded onto the NE grid, in 2019.
- Wind, solar, landfill gas, and methane power plants provided about 4.8%
- Pre-existing refuse and wood power plants provided about 4.6%
- Pre-existing hydro power plants provided about 7.4%
- The rest was mostly hydro imports from the very-low-CO2 Canada grid, and from the much-higher-CO2 New York State grid

“Added to rate base” would be much higher without subsidies and cost shifting.
US regions with good wind and solar conditions, and low construction costs/kW, produce at low c/kWh.
NE has poor wind conditions, except on pristine ridge lines, and the poorest solar conditions in the US, except the rainy, Seattle area.
NE has highest on-shore, ridgeline construction costs/kW ($2,400/kW in 2020), produces at high c/kWh
