<p>Most of these Maine biomass RECs were from small biomass plants at sawmills and cogen plants at paper mills. The biomass plant operators who were looking for bailouts at the legislature sold most of their RECs out of state ( Connecticut) and are stand alone plants, nevertheless wind and solar, unlike biomass, still have advantage as classified renewables in every New England state. </p>
