<p>Kineo, is (other than fractures from weathering) a single Rock. More (about 2/3) of it is below the surface than above. It is the largest piece of Hornblend stone on Earth. Fragments of this stone were used as arrowheads due to the sharpness and was traded as a commodity to regions west of the Mississippi into the Plains states. The Kineo House / Resort, now gone, has a unique history of it's own.</p>

<p>Moosehead, one of the largest natural lakes east of the Mississippi, has it's own tide of 4 inches. The mountains that surround it suggest that they may be the remains of a rim of a long ago massive volcano or meteor strike.
