I can't believe that the Co-Chair of The Citizens Task Force on Wind Power would come out and say that offshore wind farms are "Common Sense Technology." That's insane!

Promoters of wind power always proudly announce the "capacity" of their industrial turbines, making statements such as "each is capable of producing enough electricity to power ......." but they never say how much power has actually been produced by their iconic windmills.
Some of them , on Mars Hill, have been in operation since 2006. Everyone who drives by on Route 1 sees them turning almost constantly. But data on actual power production of industrial scale turbines is essentially a secret. The one large turbine (600 Mw) that makes its output known is at the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI). Its output is now constantly on a website, and it is reported to average less than 11% of the "rated capacity".
Every one of First Wind's 1.5 MW turbines at Stetson and Mars Hill has a "rated capacity" of 1,500,000 kilowatts. Well, how much have they been actually producing? Does anyone know?
