Richard,

Sorry about the misspelling. How is this a hydro scam ?

I truly appreciate the hours you have spent on this issue. Your testimony on LD 1810 was impressive. If nothing else, a terse email to democrat reps. might shake them a little in light of the recent happenings with Rep. Nadeau.

On rate effects :

This hydro and most of Maine Wind is purchased by Mass. utilities at a guaranteed price, just as long as their power reaches the grid. The grid market is an independent entity with rules that don't recognize or allow PPAs to affect them. The grid market is based on bid offers from generators and closes off the bids when enough hourly or real time supply is reached. Lower bids make it on and higher bids don't. Maine Wind and Canadian hydro will be competing against each other to make the grid as they both fight for position against power bids from South of the Surowiec interface.
Dan, not despondent, just a h…tag:www.windtaskforce.org,2018-03-30:4401701:Comment:1308372018-03-30T17:51:11.998ZRichard McDonald/Saving Mainehttps://www.windtaskforce.org/profile/richardmcdonald

Dan, not despondent, just a hardened realist who's spent 1000's of hours working to defeat these bastards - are you for the NECEC line? It's a travesty that Maine will see further destruction for the benefit of MA. Our rates will not go down with this hydro scam. And, it's McDonald. Take care.

No amount of emails will keep the Democrats from killing this bill. This was DOA from the beginning. Not long ago, ENR Committee killed a bill with a 12 mile setback - not sure what the governor was thinking with a 40 mile, then a 75 mile setback - the moratorium was his best move and will likely kill new development until he's out of office or overturned in the courts. Hopefully it stays in place long enough to avoid the RI 400 MW RFP slated for release in July. It would be helpful if CTF…

Hopefully it stays in place long enough to avoid the RI 400 MW RFP slated for release in July. It would be helpful if CTF members made a concerted effort to support opposition to the NECEC project - the Trojan horse for more wind in Somerset and Franklin counties.
A vote with or for "Big Wind"…tag:www.windtaskforce.org,2018-03-30:4401701:Comment:1308252018-03-30T13:40:30.320ZJohn F.
A vote with or for "Big Wind" is a vote against the people of Maine!
