Not to forget, it was but from the last Legislative body that CMP and Emera Maine were requesting to once again become Generators as well as Transmission. An action that would once again allow them to prevent sales across their lines at a competitive price with the Lines being their Monopoly hold against any New Source of Energy generation.

Dudley, power can be converted either way. DC>AC or AC>DC the tech. has been there for over 20 years. And now if you look at the new power station additions, it is easy to see the configuration and the purposes, at least for anyone that has experience in Converters and Inverters. There does exist the problem with power losses each time power is converted. The loss generally manifests itself as Heat.

Why would CMP (Avangrid) shoot themselves in the foot and adversely impact their crony co-conspiritor?

I believe the technology exists to convert wind generated AC current to DC and hook in into the high voltage line from Coburn gore to Lewiston. I'll stand on my belief that the most scenic area from Stratton to Coburn gore and all the townships within the area are at high risk for degradation. Somebody show me otherwise.

Every additional megawatt of wind installed in Maine was a megawatt not produced by gas plants.Did the gas generators rant when this happened ?

" The intervening generators said “it is abundantly clear that the integration of large-scale, out-of-market (i.e., subsidized) resources within the current ISO-NE market may have profound unintended consequences,"

I wonder how they would evaluate " large-scale, out-of-market, INTERMITTENT subsidized resources within the ISO-NE market ?
