Portland or Augusta, along with most of Maine's population could have been consumed by Frank Lloyd Wrights one time concept design of a 1 mile by 1 mile square city, rising to 1 mile in height. Some it was thought would have never seen sunshine. Cities seem to have a problem with heights of buildings blocking their views, but no problem in destroying what they wish to view while outside their Concrete & Steel habitat while admiring and glorifying tall steel structures carrying power to…

Eric, You are correct. I used the wrong building in Boston as I am Boston "old school". It is the John Hancock or now called 200 Clarendon that is roughly the same height, but 60 stories. In either case both of these towers are in the realm of the size turbine we would have built on our mountain tops here in Maine. They would not allow a building that height to be built in Portland or Augusta (they couldn't support it) but they want to put them in our wilderness. Since on a clear day you can…

They would not allow a building that height to be built in Portland or Augusta (they couldn't support it) but they want to put them in our wilderness. Since on a clear day you can see Mt. Washington and Katahdin from the Thomas Hill Standpipe in Bangor, I'm pretty sure every single one would be visible, as visible as the Hancock or Prudential tower would be. They would not blend into the wilderness very well.
@Eskutassis - Bingham's were…tag:www.windtaskforce.org,2017-08-21:4401701:Comment:1073732017-08-21T03:17:17.947ZEric A.
@Eskutassis - Bingham's were 499 feet per some documents I saved and archived. Most of the larger Wind Farms in Maine, it seems were of this class. One document I read stated that after 750 feet (apex) they would need to be manufactured on site in a spiral continuous process. I am not sure how the experimental Chinese 2000 foot turbine was constructed or how it is faring. People like Larry Mann from Auburn who do not have to deal with them directly obviously do not care about the rest of…

People like Larry Mann from Auburn who do not have to deal with them directly obviously do not care about the rest of Maine. A Democrat, with social concerns about the Air, but a hypocrite about concerns of the total environment. An Environmental Terrorist seeking to become authoritative for profit for personal gains while the rest suffer the results.
Does anyone know how tall the Prudential tower in Boston is? It is 60 stories of floors. The building is a little taller counting the towers on the top of it, but 60 stories of floors add up to about 600 feet. Anyone know the height of the new proposed wind towers for our Maine ridgelines? You got it, between 500 and 600 feet. The current ones we have been looking at are about 400 feet. Is anyone waiting for more than 200 new 600 foot turbines? If this doesn't create outrage what the hell…

Sad to say,too many Maine politicians are on the take,from ex governor Baldacci( now with Avangrid) to Angus " The Windmill" King to say there is much hope if the citizenry remain so passive. As long as the ignorant non investigative lefty press continues to turn a blind eye to the obvious,things will resist the reality of useless feckless wind.

At first I thought Larry Mann, in the comments section, shows that he has his hands in the Deep Pockets concerning Wind. However reading his other recent comments on other issues, I am beginning to think he is suffering from the ODAGES (Oxygen deficient Al Gore Extremist Syndrome) An Auburn City rat, that does not realize he is not receiving Wind Power, even if he is paying the 2¢ per Kwh extra to make the claim he is.
Can't fix Stupid
