It's not incompetence - we are instead being subjected to a deliberate wrecking operation

According to a new Rasmussen poll, only 32% of likely U.S. voters think the country is headed in the right direction. Given how dismal the state of our Union is, it’s hard to believe nearly one in three inclined to vote think the present track is satisfactory.

Even more incredible is why we’re so seriously off course. After six months of the Biden-Harris administration, its basically an unbroken record of failures in every area which cannot be attributed to sheer incompetence.

No, the theory that best fits the facts is that we are instead being subjected to a deliberate wrecking operation. Every institution, every policy, every decision appears to be calculated to do the maximum damage to our economy, our sovereignty and our freedoms.

Consider the following illustrative examples of the sort of wrecking operations the Biden team is undertaking:

  • Destroying the southern border in the transparent interest of changing the nation’s demographics so as to secure an electorate that will give the Democrats a permanent majority of voters. As Steve Bannon has observed, the numbers of illegal immigrants entering each month – most of whom are military-age single males – are approaching the size of the army General George Patton used to invade Nazi Germany in World War II. Make no mistake, the Biden wrecking crew has invited an invasion of our America.
  • Devaluing the dollar, inviting the end of its status as the world’s reserve currency and a financial reckoning that will be devastating for our economy, budget and people.
  • Dividing Americans with so-called “anti-racist” indoctrination that actually promotes black supremacism – an application of classic Marxist class warfare strategies aimed at fracturing, destabilizing and ultimately subduing targeted populations.
  • Denying future free and fair elections by enshrining in federal statutes the sort of fraud-prone electoral techniques that have embroiled swing states across the country in controversy, recriminations and audits (including an increasing number of forensic ones).
  • Defunding the police, ostensibly as a catalyst to reform but actually for the purpose of replacing capable law enforcement officers with “woke” ones. The costs of such a “fundamental transformation” – especially to poor, urban communities – are becoming more apparent and egregious by the day.
  • Demoralizing the military with racist training and purges that destroy good order and discipline and unit cohesion, which are vital to deterrence of aggression – and, if need be, to defending us against it.
  • Dismantling foreign policies that were working, including notably, real progress made by the Trump administration in forging bilateral agreements that, until undermined by the Biden team in favor of its appeasement of Iran, enhanced Israel’s security and that of much of the rest of the region.
  • Deep-sixing the rule of law by treating criminals more generously than victims and Democrats differently, and usually far better, than Republicans.
  • Discrediting the science and public health institutions related to the Chinese Communist Party virus by a litany of seemingly ever-changing and increasingly incoherent, or at least inconsistent, guidelines.
  • Derailing Trump’s regulatory reform agenda and saddling the American people, their lives and economy once again with an array of burdensome and costly regulations.
  • Deconstructing our history, defaming our country and debasing our values by, among other things, acceding to the miseducation of our kids, the tearing down of our statues, the attacks on our courthouses and the shuttering of our houses of worship. These lines of attack are greatly intensified in terms of their harm to our self-confidence and national pride by the inequitable suspending of constitutional freedoms in the name of countering the CCP virus.
  • Depriving the nation of its hard-won energy security with Biden’s version of the lunatic Green New Deal, soaring gas prices and renewed dependency in world markets on unreliable sources like Middle Eastern suppliers and Russia.

In short, Joe Biden and the people actually running his administration seem to be applying Lenin’s reported dictum: “The worse, the better.” Their efforts to reshape America are not only systematically destructive. They are coming at us on such a broad front and so fast as to conjure up the perception that resistance is futile.

That is, of course, not necessarily true. But for resistance to be mounted and effective, we must correctly diagnose the source of and reason for the assault now fully underway on all we hold dear. It’s Marxist political warfare of the most dangerous kind: systematic, unscrupulous, well-resourced and relentless.

And leaders must be found – either among existing elected officials who are not part of the “controlled opposition,” or from the growing number of Americans who feel called to lead in a time such as this.

For the rest of us, the task must be not only to support such leaders but to help them mobilize our countrymen and women so as to preserve what our “enemies within” seek to destroy – and make a redoubled effort to turn their revolution into a honing fire to render our beloved country still stronger and more unified, free and secure than ever.

There is fraud during every election to “swing” close elections, such as the well-known STANDARD fraud practices of:

1) Ballot box stuffing while no one is looking
2) Voting dead people
3) Voting moved-out-of-state people, etc.
4) Voting temporary, out-of-state students

JFK was elected with major such help from Mayor Daley, of Chicago, in 1960.

Additional fraud can be committed by "processing" vote totals with Dominion, etc., voting machines that can be connected to remote computers and local Wi-Fi systems, i.e., accessible to other computers and iPhones, etc., as proven by forensic examinations in Arizona and elsewhere.

During the 2016 Election, Dem/Progs did not have the advantage of COVID, and the additional fraud possibilities afforded by universal MAIL-IN voting.

Plus, Hillary, a very poor campaigner, was predicted, by the blind-sided Media, to win by about 10%

Plus, Trump, as a newcomer, proved to be an excellent campaigner

Plus, Dem/Progs likely did not perpetrate sufficient STANDARD and/or "Dominion" fraud to “win”

The result was a a stinging loss, much to the dismay of Hillary, etc.

Dem/Progs vowed not to let this happen again in 2020.

When COVID came, poor countries effectively used existing, much-less-costly, “off-patent” drugs, to treat the disease.

But that was not allowed by the vested interests in the US, which immediately pooh-poohed these drugs.

1) Dem/Progs wanted to exploit COVID, for election purposes; wear masks, restrict people contacts and movement, vaccination cards, $trillion dollar aid for suffering folks, etc.

2) Drug companies wanted to make $billions of highly profitable COVID drug sales.

New drugs had to be invented, costing months of time and many $billions, while people were dying.

All that, plus “phony impeachments”, “investigations”, and the fast-growing economy in free-fall due to COVID, were bad optics for Trump.

But it still took a lot of standard fraud, plus "Dominion-type" fraud, and stopping the counting on Election night at about 10 PM, in most swing states, to “swing” the election towards hiding-in the-basement Biden.

Here are some very unusual happenings:

1) Ballots were received after election day and counted in Dem/Prog-controlled counting centers.

2) Never had various states stopped ballot counting at the same time; likely top access the "situation".

3) Never did the US people go to bed with one candidate having huge leads in all swing states, only to wake up to find that lead was magically gone in all these states.

4) Dem/Progs, using COVID as an excuse, 1) Scuttled voter ID rules, 2) Flooded unsupervised drop boxes with ballots, and 3) limited poll watching and vote-count observations.

Per RNC report by the Committee on Election Integrity:

“The COVID brought chaos and comprehensive changes to voting processes beginning in the spring primaries and lasting through the post-election process,”

“Dem/Progs, including some public officials, used the COVID as a pretense to achieve long-sought policy goals, such as 1) Expanded mail-in voting. 2) Elimination of key safeguards, specifically for absentee voting, such as witness and ID requirements,”

The establishment D’s and R's like not like Trump (the grass-root people liked him much more), plus government officials, and big tech scammed JUST enough votes, in each swing state (days after the election), to just give him the win.

All this had never happened before

It needs to be corrected so it can never happen again, because, if the other party figures out how to cheat, what good is an election?

P.S., Biden did not even campaign and got the most votes in the history of any POTUS

https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/georgia-s-elections-ar...

The somewhat frail Biden, 76, became President-In-Name Only, PINO.

The results were:

- The US is no longer energy-independent

- Wide open borders with millions of unskilled, semi-literate, diseased, impoverished illegals from about 160 Third-World countries to help Biden's “BUILD BACK BETTER" program

- Rampant federal deficit spending by the $TRILLIONS, and high inflation, plus the

-Disastrous ending of the 20-y, black-hole-fiasco of Afghanistan. The list is long.

- China, Russia, etc., are laughing.

- The mercantilist EU has RECOGNIZED the Taliban.

Here is the low-down on Electric Transit Buses

Excerpt from

ELECTRIC TRANSIT AND SCHOOL BUS SYSTEMS NOT COST-EFFECTIVE IN NEW ENGLAND AND CANADA

https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/electric-bus-systems-l...

ELECTRIC TRANSIT BUSES

Two Proterra Electric Buses in Burlington, Vermont

The turnkey capital cost of 2 buses was over $2 million, including infrastructure.

They were put in service March, 2020.

The buses have been in operation on various routes for more than a year, but no electricity consumption data, and other maintenance and operating costs, have been made public. See URL

The buses are parked, charged, and maintained in a Town garage. See URL

Charging/Discharging Limits:

Batteries should not be discharged to less than 10%, as that would damage, shorten life, decrease efficiency, etc., of the battery

Batteries should not be charged above 90%, as that would damage, shorten life, decrease efficiency, etc., of the battery

Batteries should have a 15% reserve for operating flexibility, such as roads, traffic, weather, route length, etc.

Frequent high-speed charging would damage, shorten life, decrease efficiency, etc., of the battery

Battery Aging: Battery capacity should be adjusted for aging by at least a 7%, at the 7-y mid-life, and 14%, at the 14-y end-life

This means the working range would be 65% x 324 = 210.6 kWh DC, based on a new battery, less as the battery ages

Regeneration: Some of the discharge energy required to move the bus is returned to the battery through regenerative braking when the bus slows down. There are other draws while driving, such as lighting, various on-board systems, battery heating and cooling, cabin cooling, etc., which are not recoverable.

Regeneration efficiency is about 65%. The returned energy to the battery is about 25% of what was discharged from the battery for moving the bus. See page 21 of URL

https://www.transit.dot.gov/sites/fta.dot.gov/files/docs/research-i...

NOTE: Some Tesla Model S drivers have reported recapturing as much as 32% of their total energy use while driving up a hill, and then downhill. That experiment would not be applicable to a city bus on a route.

https://www.tesla.com/blog/magic-tesla-roadster-regenerative-braking

https://electrek.co/2018/04/24/regenerative-braking-how-it-works/

Available Range:

Total energy from battery, including recovery, would be 261.9 kWh DC

Vehicle consumption would be about 2.1 kWh DC/mile, per Proterra; varies with roads, traffic, weather, route length, etc.

Bus range, on average, would be about 261.9/2.1 = 124.7 miles, based on a new battery.

The range would become about 115.7 miles at age 7, and about 107.4 miles at age 14. See table 1A

Energy Cost Reduction

Diesel bus energy cost: 30,000 miles/4.25 mpg x $2.00/gal, bulk price = $14,118/y, or $0.471/mile

Electric bus energy cost: 30,000 miles x 2.1 kWh DC/mile x 1/0.84, charging factor x $0.15/kWh, com’l rate = $11,250/y, or $0.375/mile

Energy cost reduction would be $2868/y, on a $2 million-plus investment that lasts about 10 - 15 years.

The cost of amortizing $1 million at 3.5%/y and 15 years is $85,786/y, or 85786//30000 =$2.86/mile

That cost completely overwhelms any possible reduction in energy and maintenance costs.

https://www.myamortizationchart.com

CO2 Reduction

Diesel bus CO2: (30,000 miles/4.25 mpg) x 22.163 lb CO2/gal x 1 Mt/2204.62 lb = 71 Mt/y

Electric bus CO2: 30,000 miles x 2.1 kWh/mile x 317 g/kWh, per ISO-NE, from fuel to power plants x 1 Mt/1 million g = 20 Mt/y

Avoided CO2 for two buses is 2 x (71 - 20) = 102 Mt/y

Amortizing cost of $2 million at 3.5%/y and 15 years is $171,571/y, or 171571/102 =$1,682/Mt

Vermonters have many other ways to reduce CO2 at much less cost per metric ton.

Three Proterra Electric Buses in King County, Seattle, Washington

On February 2016, King County Metro transit agency in Seattle, Washington (mild climate), began operation of three, 42.5-foot, fast-charge, electric transit buses, built by Proterra.

The 2017 National Renewable Energy Laboratories report of the project is based on one year of data from April 2016 through March 2017.

Per NREL report:

Electric bus: Travel 27,709 miles/y; availability 80.6%; electricity cost 20.35 c/kWh (from utility bills; the high cost is due to demand charges during battery charging); electricity 2.36 kWh DC/mile. See table 3.5

Overall operating cost = Electricity, 57 c/mile + Maintenance, 26 c/mile = 82 c/mile. See table 3.10

Diesel bus: Travel 23,110 miles/y; availability 86.4%; diesel cost $1.60/gal, bulk price; mileage 5.3 miles/gallon

Overall operating cost = Diesel fuel, 30 c/mile + Maintenance, 46 c/mile = 77 c/mile. See table 3.10

The cost of amortizing $1 million at 3.5%/y and 15 years is $85,786/y, or 85786//30000 =$2.86/mile

That cost completely overwhelms any possible reduction in energy and maintenance costs.

https://www.myamortizationchart.com

The electricity cost per mile, based on utility electric bills, represents the “wall-outlet” cost per mile. It includes battery charging losses. The electricity cost per mile depends on: 1) electric rates, 2) demand charges, and 3) taxes, fees and surcharges.

The electricity taken from a wall outlet, kWh AC, is about 16% greater than the kWh DC charged into the battery, because of various charging losses.

- The electric bus requires 2.36 kWh DC/mile from the battery. The electricity taken from the outlet is 2.36/0.84 = 2.81 kWh AC/mile, which at 20.35 c/kWh AC (from utility bills), would cost 57.2 c/mile, as shown above.

- The diesel bus achieves 5.3 mpg, or 0.1887 gal/mile, which at $1.60/gal (bulk price), would cost 30.2 c/mile, as shown above

NREL Equivalency Method

NREL calculates an equivalency ratio, i.e., a gallon of diesel fuel in the tank is equivalent to 128,488 Btu/gal (LHV) / 3,414 Btu/kWh = 37.64 kWh DC in the battery.

This method is utter nonsense, because it equates thermal Btus with electrical Btus. First-year students in US engineering schools are told that is an absolute no, no. The US EPA, NREL, etc., are the only political entities in the world using this method.

https://afdc.energy.gov/files/u/publication/fuel_comparison_chart.pdf

The electric bus requires 2.36 kWh DC/mile from the battery.

NREL fuel economy of the electric bus is (37.64 kWh/gal) / (2.36 kWh DC/mile) = 15.93 miles/gal eq.

The NREL method shows, the electric bus is 15.93/5.3 = 3.0 times more energy efficient than the diesel bus, if the diesel bus achieves 5.3 miles per gallon

This would look very impressive to various RE folks, politicians, lay people, etc.

However, it is not, if energy is included on an A-to-Z basis.

NREL Equivalency Method, if All Energy Included

The energy fed to New England power plants is about 9,500 Btu to produce one kWh, or 3,414 Btu of electricity, a conversion efficiency of about 36%.

It requires about 10% x 9,500 = 950 Btu to extract, process and transport the energy to power plants.

Energy required to produce one kWh = 9500 + 950 = 10,450 Btu

It requires about 27% x 128,488 Btu/gal (LHV) = 34,692 Btu/gal to extract, process and transport a gallon of diesel fuel

The NREL equivalency ratio becomes (128488 + 34691) / (9500 + 950) = 15.62 kWh DC in the battery, which is much less than the nonsense value of 37.64 kWh DC

As a result, the fuel economy of the electric bus becomes 15.62/2.36 = 6.62 miles/gal eq, which is only 6.62/5.3 = 1.25 times more energy efficient than the diesel bus!

This is realistic, but would look much less impressive to various RE folks, politicians, lay people, etc.

The inflationary CPI increases of CONSUMER prices are a direct result of out-of-control GOVERNMENT spending and adding that spending to the already ENORMOUS US NATIONAL DEBT, financed by China and Europe to keep the US addicted to “debt living”, and “pump priming”

After soaring to a record high 7.3% YoY in June, the inflationary increases of PRODUCER prices, PPI, was expected (like Core CPI) to moderate modestly in July to 'just' +7.2% YoY.

They were wildly wrong as July's PPI soared to a new record +7.8% YoY (up 1.0% MoM)...

Bernie is undermining Joe Manchin, who appears to be the only SANE Dem/Prog voice of conscience in the US Senate regarding GOVERNMENT DEFICIT spending.

Shame on the RINOS, who are aiding and abetting the big-government-spending sprees of the Pelosi/Bernie/Schumer TROIKA

Oh well, Bernie is true to his decades of government spending.

After all, for him, it is logical to increase government spending to achieve more command/control
He has done that since he was a little boy
For him, it t is logical not to adequately fund the police

It is all very simple.

The TROIKA folks are arm-waving, face-making, rabble rousers.
They love Socialism-style disorder, and centralized government command/control

Bernie even celebrated his honeymoon in the USSR a few decades ago.
The Russians played him like a fiddle, and he lapped it up.

Lenin, who “introduced” Communism to Russia more than 100 years ago, also was a rabble rouser, stirring up and taking advantage of people’s various dissatisfactions, promising a chicken in every Proletariat pot, paid for by those evil capitalists, such as Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Jeff Bozos, etc., without whom the US would be economically much less strong.

The USSR could only WISH to have such people.
The TROIKA wants to handcuff and destroy them.

Bernie would irresponsibly GROW the federal government even more by adding a multitude of government programs, plus add another $3.5 to $5 TRILLION to the already-very-high US NATIONAL DEBT, FOR STARTERS, without even blinking an eye.

Welcome to the THIRD-WORLD USA, presently being inundated, on purpose, with mostly illiterate, unskilled, sickly, illegal aliens from about 160 THIRD-WORLD countries, to change the US Demographics in favor of Dem/Progs.

Politicians and politics have brought us the monstrous wind turbines and transmission that are proliferating in Maine at the expense of taxpayers, ratepayers and the state's natural beauty. It is not only the wind developers who have lied to us about the efficacy of wind turbines, but also politicians, regulators and the media. Frankly, wind and the current Twilight Zone state of affairs in America today have much in common, starting with lying, propaganda, controlled media that spew narrative rather than report news, classification of opposing viewpoints as politically incorrect, corruption, legislators that do not represent the people, widespread fraud, etc.

Coming to mind is the old typing class drill, "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country". I find self-censorship a step in the direction of national suicide. If someone as accomplished and committed to fighting wind as John Droz, Jr. can risk his hard fought reputation as a preeminent science-based wind opponent by straying beyond the wind topic in his revamped newsletter, I think it's fine for CTFWP to reject the idea of self censorship simply because something is not specifically about wind.

Baden-Württemberg Government Announces Plans To Clear Cut State Forest, Build 1000 Turbines

By P Gosselin on 6. August 2021

Dystopian nature protection….500 wind turbines in state forests, millions of tons of concrete and steel…deforestation, permanently destroyed biotopes.

A large part of southwestern Germany’s idyllic natural landscape is about to be industrialized by 1000 “environmentally friendly” wind turbines.

=====================================

Germany faces an ecological dystopia. Image: Windwahn

How wind power endangers Germany’s nature and the health of its citizens

By Werner Köppen
www.klima-diegrossetransformation.de

(Translated, subheadings by P. Gosselin)

“State wants to build 500 new wind turbines in the state forest,” was the headline in the Badische Zeitung on July 26 over the decision by Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state government. This decision is the first step by the state coalition government of The Greens and CDU to build 1000 wind turbines in the next legislative period.

The news came only a few days after the flood disaster in North Rhine Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, where it was quite obvious that a lack of flood plains was the main cause of the floods. Now policymakers have decided to destroy even more valuable forest areas and to seal the deforested ground with tens of thousands of tons of concrete.

Permanently disfigured landscape

Each wind turbine means the clear-cutting of 0.35 km2 of forest, lost CO2 and moisture reservoirs, all to be sealed by 3500 tons of concrete each for each turbine. To date, such concrete blocks have never been removed, insurmountable obstacles to deep-rooted trees and natural water control.

Infrasound

Even more serious is the health risk, and it is incomprehensible that in an environmentally and health-conscious country like Germany, medical warnings about infrasound from wind turbines are not discussed in detail, and are even systematically downplayed.

Slipshod health impact assessments

According to the current state of knowledge, the approval of wind turbines is done according to inappropriate regulations and standards, i.e. infrasound is wrongly evaluated. The medical reactions of desperate residents near wind farms, who seek protection from the agonizing sound waves, are dismissed as imaginary illnesses. Some are left with the sole option of abandoning their own homes. Yet, medical experts have been warning for some time about the harmful effects of infrasound on blood vessels and brain functions.

Ideology

Currently, the global temperature increase since 1979 has been about 0.15 °C per decade (see Vahrenholt, Lüning: Unwanted Truths), the world is far from the 4 to 6 °C by 2100 predicted in the first scare stories about climate change. Moreover, according to current science, carbon dioxide is not the main driver of global warming. But scientific technical debate has become secondary today. In the group of the so-called “climate protectors” there is no willingness to question their thesis of man-made climate change.

Under these conditions, it is irresponsible to turn our country, Germany, into an industrial landscape and, moreover, to sacrifice our health and prosperity.

Overriding Ministry of Climate Protection

Just a few days ago, the Green Party has presented its so-called climate protection emergency program, which would grant a climate protection ministry a veto right against all present laws that are not Paris-compliant. Thus, a radical eco-socialist system would be imposed on Germany, with a 2.5% share of global CO2 emissions, in a rush.

Here is a lowdown on EVs

THETFORD; July 2, 2021 — A fire destroyed a 2019 Chevy Bolt, 66 kWh battery, EPA range 238 miles, owned by state Rep. Tim Briglin, D-Thetford, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Technology.

He had parked his 2019 Chevy Bolt on the driveway, throughout the winter, per GM recall of Chevy Bolts

He had plugged his EV into his 240-volt outdoor charger.

The battery was at about 10% charge at start of charging, at 8 PM, and he had charged it to 100% charge at 4 AM; 8 hours of charging. See Note

Li-ions (pos.) would plate out on the anode (pos.) each time such charging occurred at battery temperatures of 32F or less.

Firefighters were called to Briglin’s Tucker Hill Road home around 9 AM Thursday.

Investigators from the Vermont Department of Public Safety Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit determined:

1) The fire started in a compartment in the back of the passenger’s side of the vehicle

2) It was likely due to an “electrical failure”.

https://electrek.co/2020/11/13/gm-recall-chevy-bolt-evs-potential-f...

GM Recall of Chevy Bolts: In 2020, GM issued a worldwide recall of 68,667 Chevy Bolts, all 2017, 2018 and 2019 models.

GM set aside $800 million to develop a solution, open the pack, replace defective battery modules, and assemble everything back together again, or 800 million/68,667 = $11,650 per vehicle

https://insideevs.com/news/524712/chevrolet-bolt-battery-recall-cost/

Owners were advised not to charge them in a garage, and not to leave them unattended while charging, which may take up to 8 hours; what a nuisance!

Rep. Briglin heeded the GM advisory by not charging in his garage.

NOTE:

- Cost of replacing the battery packs of 80,000 Hyundai Konas was estimated at $900 million, about $11,000 per vehicle

- EV batteries should be charged from 20 to 80%, to achieve minimal degradation and long life, plus the charging loss is minimal in that range

- Charging EVs from 0 to 20% charge, and from 80 to 100% charge, 1) uses more kWh AC from the wall outlet per kWh DC charged into the battery, and 2) is detrimental to the battery. Also, it requires additional kWh for cooling the battery while charging.

- EV batteries must never be charged, when the battery temperature is less than 32F; if charged anyway, the plating out of Li-ions on the anode would permanently damage the battery.

APPENDIX 8

Charging Electric Vehicles During Freezing Conditions

A 3-layer tape (cathode, separator and anode) is wound on a core to make a battery cell.

An EV battery pack has several thousand cells. The cells are arranged in strings, i.e., in series, to achieve the desired voltage

The strings are arranged in parallel to achieve the desired amps.

Power, in Watts = Volts x Amps

EV Normal Operation at 32F and below: On cold/freezing days, EVs would use on-board systems to heat the battery, as needed, during daily operation

EV Parking at 32 F and below: When at home, it is best to keep EVs plugged in during periods at 32F and below, whether parked indoors or outdoors.

When parking at an airport, which may not have enough charging stations, it is best to fully charge EVs prior to parking, to enable the on-board systems to heat the battery during parking, as needed.

Charging at 32F and below: Li-ion batteries must never be charged when the battery temperature is at 32F or below. Do not plug it in. Turn on “pre-conditioning”, to enable the battery heating/cooling system (which could be a heat pump) to very slowly heat up the battery to about 40F. After the battery is “up to temperature”, normal charging can be started, either at home, or at a fast-charging rate on the road.

If the battery does not have enough charge to heat itself at about 40F, it needs to be heated by an external heat source, such as an electric heater under the battery, or towed/driven to a warm garage. All this, while cumbersome, needs to be done to safeguard the expensive battery.

Pre-conditioning can be set to:

1) Preheat the cabin and/or seats

2) Defrost windshield wipers, windows, door handles and charge port, etc., in case of freezing rain conditions; newer Teslas have charge port heaters. See URL

3) Pre-heat the battery, before arriving at a fast charger.

https://getoptiwatt.com/news/tesla-extreme-weather-considerations-h...

Power Outage, while parked at 32F and below: During a power outage, partially charged batteries, connected to dead chargers, could use much of their remaining charge to keep the batteries at about 40F.

If the power is restored, and the EV is plugged in, charging must never begin, unless the battery temperature is 35 to 40F

See URLs.

During charging, Li-ions (pos.) are absorbed by the anode (pos.) at decreasing rates as the battery temperature decreases from 32F

Any excess Li-ions arriving at the anode will plate out on the anode and permanently reduce the absorption rate.

The plating is not smooth, like chrome plating; it is roughish and may have dendrites, which could penetrate the thin separator between the anode and cathode, and cause a short and a fire.

A similar condition exists, if charging from 0 to 20% and from 80 to 100%; the more often such charging, the greater the anode resistance to absorbing Li-ions, and the greater the likelihood of plating.

The plating condition is permanent, i.e., cannot be reversed.

Also, frequently charging from 0 to 20% and from 80 to 100%, increases the charging percentage, increases kWh/mile of travel, and reduces range.

NOTE:

- EV batteries have miscellaneous losses to provide electricity to on-board systems

- On cold/freezing days, an electric bus should be ready for service as soon as the driver enters the bus

- On cold/freezing days, the bus driver would need at least 70% charge, because travel would require more kWh per mile

NOTE:

If the battery temperature is less than 40F or more than 115F, it will use more kWh/mile of travel

The best efficiency, charging and discharging, is at battery temperatures of 60 to 80F.

Batteries have greater internal resistance at lower temperatures and at high temperatures.

Pro-bus folks often point to California regarding electric buses, but in New England, using electric buses to transport children would be a whole new ballgame, especially on colder days. See URLs

EV Electricity Supply: Where would the electricity come from, to charge and protect from cold, expensive batteries during extended electricity outages/rolling blackouts, due to multi-day, hot and cold weather events, with minimal wind and solar, as occur in New England throughout the year?

President Biden wants half the vehicles in the US to be electric or hybrids by 2030.  No discussion as to where the electricity is going to come from to power these vehicles but no doubt "green energy" will be on the table, front and center.  Unfortunately, everything that's happening right now is tied into one global vision, and it's all purely political. It's hard to separate out the travesty of building six hundred foot tall wind turbines on our mountains and filling farm fields with solar panels, from the "green" executive orders being signed.  Having been banned from social media, it's a relief to me to be able to communicate on this site about political policies and agendas that I find deeply disturbing.  If we lose our freedom of speech, we lose America.  We all have to speak up.  Loudly.

Kenneth - the old saw regarding the media was "If it bleeds, it leads". Yes, I'm sure there is a small minority of readers at, for example, the once credible Maine newspapers, who are addicted to their own adrenaline that results from the papers' incessant infusion of climate into their daily "reporting". But overall, these newspapers and the newspaper industry in general have seen huge circulation declines predating the advent of the Internet and social media. Digital competition has made the circulation declines all the more worse. And with that, revenue declines. If the newspapers are thriving, they are doing so against a tide of decreasing subscription dollars and advertising dollars. This has made them ripe for succumbing to a new business model, "presstitution". And presstitution, like all unsavory behavior, opens up the possibility of blackmail. No question in my mind that the media in the U.S. are controlled, although it's hard to say by whom and it's hard to know the precise means of control. Evil times when the watchdogs no longer bark.

Right now the media is thriving from all the climate terrorism they are printing. Without that, they would fold. I would wager however that some papers would sell out if given the right price. Has anyone got a list of owners?

Jan,

POLEMICAL RANTS?

Here are some FACTS AND FIGURES NOT COVERED BY THE US MEDIA

GEORGIA, ARIZONA, WISCONSIN, PENNSYLVANIA ELECTIONS ARE FRAUDULENT

EXCERPT:

PENNSYLVANIA

PREPARATION OF 288,000 MAIL-IN BALLOTS IN BETHPAGE, NY FOR USE IN PENNSYLVANIA MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION

https://www.windtaskforce.org/profiles/blogs/preperation-of-288-000...

This article describes a multi-month project, started about August 2020, to fabricate up to 288,000 mail-in ballots near Bethpage, Long Island, NY, for use during the 2020 Election in Pennsylvania, a swing state.

This article is a work in progress, because of on-going developments.

Folks should know this huge, premeditated, 288,000-vote fraud took place several months BEFORE the election.

It likely was not the only premeditated fraud.

The Pennsylvania 2020 Election counted 6,835,903 votes

2020 turnout was 70.93%, i.e., about 9,637,534 NAMES ON REGISTERED VOTER LISTS

NON-VOTERS were about 2,801,631

The Bethpage fraud used only 10.3% of the NON-VOTERS to manufacture 288,000 mail-in ballots in envelopes MONTHS BEFORE THE ELECTION AS INSURANCE

It would be easy to select only 10.3% of the non-voters to perpetrate the fraud

BTW, Biden "won" Pennsylvania by 80,555 votes

House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
