Well said, Friends of Maine's Mountains

Before Maine's landscape is squandered for naught, it is hoped more citizens learn the consequences of failed energy policy and feel good wind power  , and then act to stop them soon!

What New England’s foolhardy, clean energy policy looks like

Chris O'Neil from Friends of Maine's Mountains Makes an impassioned and fact driven expose' of what happened to ISO-NE on Sept 8th.  Our wind farms failed to produce when they were called on during a peak period that lasted most of the day.  Prices went from $30 per MWH to nearly $1,000 per MWH during that period.  So much for "Free" Wind.…

It's Migration Time (Audubon Society) and not a word about Maine's Dangers

Bob Duchesne, VP of Penobscot Audubon, writes a very good article about the migration season that is just beginning.  He does, however, leave out any mention of the new dangers facing our feathered friends from spinning blades.

Renewable Pipe Dreams and the Consequences . The Social Injustice of the" Green Dreamers"

The elites in Portland  , Augusta and Maine State government seem  to  agree with left coast energy policy.

Is Maine trying to emulate the green policies of California?

Please read this WSJ op ed  and see if this should be Maine’s future.

$3.22 a gallon and  30 cents a KWH delivered is on the way.

The elites and piggies at the subsidy trough in Maine love…

Fort Fairfield residents air support for wind ordinance

Fort Fairfield is entertaining a huge wind development, but they are making some demands that will make it very hard for the developers to proceed.  One mile setbacks from property owners that are opposed to the project make it almost impossible.  Read below.…

More lies and distortion from the wind industry.

Get ready to pull your hair out with the lies and distortions in this article from The Hill.  They have turned every fact 180 degrees on its head and added a few more.  The Polar Vortex of last winter is blamed, of course, on the Koch Brothers and their energy policies and global climate change.  He says wind improves our power reliability by diversifying our energy mix.  Funny how the wind farms in our northern counties are some of the biggest USERS of energy, especially in the…

Written from the point of someone who is already sucking down subsidies

Congress: Extend the Investment Tax Credit for Advanced Energy Technologies

This article is written by a man that needs the subsidies to justify his research and further existence. I say level the playing field for everyone and let the programs that excel go forward and the others die.  That is true American business.  No fair picking winners and losers before the truth is told.…

Maybe there will be hope in 2016.

I know this is a little political, but when you keep hitting your head against the wall, and nothing seems to get better, maybe it is time for a change of views.

A new wind industry poll

Should the wind industry continue to promote their fraudulent research through media outlets to help sell turbine projects to ignorant Americans?

Yes......... Fraud for the right price is OK in today's world.

Democrats Suggest Renewing Subsidy for Renewables in Exchange for Ending Oil Export Ban

I really hope leadership does not fall for this clearly lopsided bill that will raise prices for all energy.  Of course Angus is leading the way.  He doesn't have any irons in the fire does he?

Analysis: Outlook shifting for offshore wind farms

Clean-energy advocates and many business leaders were dismayed last year when the federal Department of Energy passed over Maine for a $47 million grant to help build an experimental floating wind farm. Instead, competitors in New Jersey, Virginia and Oregon won the awards, dashing dreams…

A RATEPAYER FOCUSED STRATEGY FOR DISTRIBUTED SOLAR IN MAINE...from Public Advocate's Office

Are any of you plugged into the white papers produced under the Public Advocate's office  STRATEGEN (Strategies for Clean Energy) series?

The Latest is a direct benefit for the solar PV industry in Maine, and possibly an 'end-around' to Maine's net metering, power generating, and grid interconnection rules. It would enable 'organized community shareholders' to underwrite solar farms to generate power and distribute it through the grid with a minimal charge for grid distribution and…

I'm not exactly sure where this lady got her economics training, but they should investigate it.

The windies are still preaching the lie that the fuel for wind turbines is FREE!!!  This is a really hard article to read without gagging.

THIS I Approve of!!!

Small farms in Maine have been really struggling and these systems may make life better for them.  This is a good investment for our government and the farms (consumers).

Our friends at Emera are moving south, and their reputation follows them.

Emera is buying TECO, the power company in Tampa, FL and the people there are already worried about the reputation that Emera boosts rates higher than they should.  They say Emera is committed to renewables so look out Tampa!…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
