Looks Like November Will Be For Our LIFE!!!!!

Where the Democratic Gubernatorial Candidates Stand on the Issues

Whoever we get for a Dem Candidate in November will be a disaster for us. All support "Renewable" energy though most skirt the wind problem. Almost all call for TOTAL 100% renewable by 2030 -2035. Does anyone know what a mess that will make of our state. All will NOT support a gas pipeline for our heat…

Dylan Voorhees, Glen Brand and Beth Nagusky credited by group claiming 2,100 Maine wind jobs

It feels like Governor Baldacci's wind task force all over again. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us twice, shame on us.

"We thank the following individuals and organizations—in addition to those who respectfully choose to remain anonymous—for offering their insight and perspectives on this work."…

Wind Shill Habib Dagher: "This is our last chance in Maine to really transform the state's economy"

Yes Habib, flushing billions in taxpayer money down the toilet, killing ratepayers, harming fishermen, harming tourism and driving companies out of Maine due to yet higher electricity costs will indeed help the state's economy. What a shamelessly shilling self serving statement. BRASS. Give us a break. …

California's Patagonia joins NRCM in opposing Canadian hydropower transmission line through Maine

NRCM and the wind developers do not want this line. If the line is not built, many more wind projects would be planned for Maine. Does anyone think that NRCM told Patagonia how many ridges get destroyed and how many birds get killed when industrial wind projects come to Maine?

“Most of the power lines are in place already! Wind power causes way more destruction by blowing holes on tops of our beautiful mountains! Hydro power is steady,…

GERMANY, CALIFORNIA AND VERMONT STAGNANT CO2 EMISSIONS

GERMANY

Germany, a major industrial country, is a leader in renewable energy generation. However, Germany made a significant mistake. Germany decided to phase out its nuclear plants, which produce low-cost electricity that has near-zero CO2/kWh, instead of replacing the plants. Germany continued to the use of lignite, a soft coal (low-Btu/lb.) coal, and hard coal. As a result, the CO2eq emissions have not decreased for the past 8…

Promises, Promises, Promises = FAIL

The Town of Kittery Looks To Remove Defunct Wind Turbine

In 2008, the beginning of our twisted love affair with wind turbines, The town of Kittery voted to add a new turbine on their landfill and were promised that it would save them $8,000 a year in energy costs. It cost them $185,000 to install it and within a year found that it only produced about 16% of what was promised. They investigated many options for repair…

Our Politics Has Turned Childish and Vindictive

Cicilline Says Offshore Wind is Rebuke to President

Rhode Island has taken a step to broaden their development of offshore wind. My take is to let them make the mistake, as long as it does not hurt us here in Maine.…

THE MIRACULOUS ANGUS KING

Angus is more than a political independent. he stands alone as phenomenon outside of Nature as we know it---the only object known to science that has but a single dimension. He's a geometrical miracle, all surface and no depth. He's incapable of uttering anything but common-place ideas or sentiments. He serves up well-strained pablum tested to soothe the voters.  Apparently his principle work to "be moderate."

He explains that he is running again because “There is so much left to be…

The latest indication that certain newspapers sell favorable coverage

Following 20 years of crippling circulation declines, loss of subscription revenues, loss of single copy sales revenues and loss of ad revenues, many have long speculated that newspapers have begun moving to a new revenue model: providing favorable news coverage in return for money. When one reads for the 100th time that a wind "farm" will power 35,000 homes, after the newspapers have been shown this to be an outright falsehood, one wonders whether wind companies have the media on their…

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
