Offshore Wind Could Blind US Radar To Enemy Missile Attacks

It is anticipated that the Trump administration will appeal recent rulings to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Offshore wind is an intermittent power source.

Multiple high-voltage cables are making landfall on beaches through residential neighborhoods, requiring massive, dangerous battery backup systems near homes.

The offshore wind submarine cables should have been run to the large industrial cities where the power is used, rather than rebuilding the entire electric grid.

Since 2016, with the start of the Block Island wind farm, whale deaths have followed wind turbine construction to the present.

The fishing industry is suffering economic losses and displacing traditional fishing grounds. Marine habitats and fishing have been affected by noise and electromagnetic fields from hundreds of submarine cables tied to the turbines.

The Trump administration recently opposed offshore wind as a national security risk regarding radar systems due to radar clutter.

The Federal Aviation Administration typically requires land-based wind turbine setbacks from airports of around 5 miles due to radar clutter.

Offshore wind was sold to the public as a way to save on our electric bills. Today, we are told that due to high construction costs, financing, and supply chain issues, those costs are passed on to electric rate consumers.

The previous administration and state governments have an agenda to put citizens at risk by phasing out fossil fuel plants by 2035 without any alternatives. Small modular nuclear was left out in favor of billions of dollars in offshore wind and rebuilding the entire electric grid.

The East Coast relies on oil and natural gas during cold periods. The grid requires fast, reliable power to prevent blackouts. During storms, offshore wind farms shut down, and solar projects are covered with feet of snow.

The results have been in since 2016, and offshore wind is a "waste of taxpayer dollars," killing marine life.

Declaring a climate emergency and treating the transition away from fossil fuels as an "all-out war" and fight like a "real war" is a prominent theme among climate activists, scientists, and analysts who view climate change as an existential threat requiring a wartime-level response. The collateral damage is ratepayers and the citizens of the United States.

The current national renewable energy agenda is creating a national emergency, trying to reach 100 percent clean energy by 2050.
