- Green energy is a scam, Elon. The jobs you tout are not permanent as they would be in coal or nuclear, once the construction is done. The energy doesn't meet the needs of America, and is unreliable.
My bills in Illinois have skyrocketed since all the coal plants were forced out of business and we now have to buy from other states on the open market. Thanks, but no thanks. State is already covered in garbage windmills and solar panels.
- And, if the green energy forever relies on taxpayer money, then it's a waste of money. It needs to stand on its own without our taxes.
- Well said.. I’m also an Illinois resident, downstate Illinois, and I never thought I’d see the day when thousands upon thousands of acres of prime Illinois farm land - $10,000 plus per acre farmland - would be converted over to freakin solar farms!.. It absolutely crazy!.. Both our Federal and State governments are currently in the process of turning one of the top five agricultural states into an taxpayer subsidized exercise in stupidity….
- Central Illinois here. You can't drive five miles in any direction from where I live without hitting one of those ugly wind farms. Right now, this morning, every single one of them is sitting idle because there isn't enough breeze to turn the blades.
Typical Illinois in summer - hot and still. When you need the power, they don't work.
