Wikileaks reveals "conspiracy to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry'

Wind warriors - ever wonder how woefully hard it is for truth, justice and the American way to prevail over propaganda by paid off politicians, media and environmental groups in the wind battle?

Some of the answer is right here, excerpted from a Wikileaked email sent to campaign manager John Podesta from Bill Ivey, the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts in the late 90's.

"And as I’ve mentioned, we’ve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry,” he writes".

The email is a shocking insight into the elitist and arrogant mindset, with Americans viewed as dumb sheep who need to be herded in the right direction.

Notice too, they are no longer required to teach what is now called Cursive writing. Aka Penmanship should that even be politically correct these days, given man or woman is being disallowed in some of our college campuses. This is to leave our children with the last resort of Typing, utilizing digital communications. And as we are quickly observing, these communications can easily be monitored to pin point any decent toward any authority.  At one time I thought this to be due to incompetence of today's teachers, and maybe so, however it too could be the plan of the future.

It is interesting to note that the goal is to 'drop civics, and in general conspire to produce and unaware and compliant citizenry.'  Better known, in my day, as 'brainwashing.'  1984, we have met you.

@ Paula: Yes it is a symptom......... A symptom that shows that some people do not need the riches or fame to go forth as they by some means have already achieved that. Right or Wrong, but not through politics.

We too, the honest and caring, would not need that either as we are so use to being shit upon would wealth and fame make a difference at this point.

This is where I would support FREE EDUCATION.... On the facts about reality, not Idealism's.

Facts are hard truths, not often liked, but provide a basis of where and where not to venture once again. I learned early not to disobey my parents, when repeated attempts ended up with the same results. Yet society seems destine to repeat its failures due to forgotten or untaught mistakes of the past.

If our communities ever hope to preserve what they like about theirs, they must retake control. Whether it be through utilizing the protective avenues provided within the constitution to revoke the prohibitions imposed by the elite or the corporations seeking legislative favor or as a possible last resort a revolution (peaceful I would hope) this will ultimately be up to them and their strength of character.

We can keep them informed, however it is ultimately their desire to live free and unimpeded by a minority individual or group of people eventually light the fire within them. Then comes the hard task of mending the damages, if possible.

Remember Jim, Stupidity can not be fixed....... and as the most liberal Supreme Court Justice said, it is their right and it is not illegal.

Strange how Clinton was for Donald Trump when the Republican party was trying to find a nominee as she was being exposed by Sanders. Now that Trump is exposing her. her support no longer exists.  As has been said, She (the Queen of Dem that are not deplorable, or out of touch Bernie basement dwellers, or otherwise despicable's ) is now "Afraid of Trump", and the Mainstream Republicans are "Afraid of Trump" as they too stand to be exposed as do nothing politicians seeking glory and financial favor for a family legacy.

Having died twice, I was unaware, so it was peaceful.......... and maybe soon all this will be for those that remain......... may they live well. But they should prepare if they wish to do so.

Besides corruption another huge problem in the country is the freedom to be stupid.  The photo below is a perfect example of this problem.

Both parties are corrupt. As we can all see from Paul Ryan and others like him, they are united in their corruption. Hillary represents corruption and Washington insiders from both parties want to see Hillary as President. Even if it this means rigging the vote in a few key states, they will do it.

I guess I see the 'Trump movement' as not a cause nor a cure but as a symptom. A symptom of an underlying instability in the American society. An uneasy dissatisfaction with the status quo. Plus personal insecurities and lack of resources to deal with society as it is in the 21st century. A positive outlook would be that the general populace is cognizant of the fissures and is groping for solutions to establish some stability and predictability in everyday life for themselves and for the nation. The result is chaotic reactions to events and frenetic searching for solid ground.

If one were given to a religious mindset I guess we might be looking for a messiah or a tablet of commandments. Or maybe anticipating/fearing an Armegeddon.  We see all events, big and small, as part of some national or even global crisis. We have no perspective to see today as only a tiny glimpse of the progress of civilization. Moments are more significant than centuries.

We are rootless - and maybe that's why we feel so compelled to fight to retain the solace and spiritual nourishment we feel about our Maine heritage, both natural and societal. We are an independent, outspoken, people who rail against injustice and bondage. We pride ourselves on that independent spirit and don't accept being trod on by self-righteous people with more money and power.

OK, Paula's second Precious Pearl today.

Think of freedom-loving Americans being locked in Washington and the Trump movement an attempted jailbreak.

Republican Corporatism or Democratic Elitism

One will not pay a decent wage - But will work you to death

The other will not let you escape poverty and will tax the hell out of you, should you dare.

I've had 50 years of voting and watching the political process in our country. I've seen plenty of seemingly good people do horrendously bad stuff. How do you tell the 'good' from the 'bad'? I voted twice for Nixon but sure wasn't impressed by his potty mouth. I think he did however do some good for our country. How do you weigh words and acts and consequences in the balance? I've admired George Bush but there were some not so great things happen under his watch. I don't blame him much for that. Presidents can't control everything, nor should they think they can. I admire him most for not thinking he could. At least that's my impression of the man.

It truly is an unprecedented and unattractive and very dangerous time in our nation's governance. Coming at a time of great peril from attacks from outside forces on our society, this country needs strong and wise leadership. Leaders who have been put to the test and not found wanting. We are woefully short on such people and to compound the situation the populace has been induced into a state of (I agree with the author) unaware compliance.

It is truly ironic that in this time of instantaneous and ubiquitous dissemination of information, people remain appallingly ignorant of facts. I would also assert that many have not had the education to evaluate those facts and use them to good advantage to inspire and promote good leadership. Too often money and personality determine the candidates and policies we are asked to vote for. The needs and best interests of our people have been perverted into hyped campaigns that reek more harm than good for our society.

I guess I'm not very optimistic about the consequences for our state and our country for this election and for many more to come. I hope this author is right that compliance is fading rapidly. I hope this author is wrong that unawareness remains strong. I hope more people see the danger and start exercising, not just their voting rights, but taking active responsibility for self-governance for the public good.

That's Paula's Precious Pearl for today.........

They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
