Sun Edison has gained funding for and is starting the Bingham project. More ridgetops will be devastated for useless profiteering. They make it sound like Maine is getting a GIFT.

The contracts were actually with First Wind but I am sure the language was written so that ownership could 'evolve' since back then the First Wind-Emera deal was approved but under appeal. TerraForm seems to have so many parts that it is very confusing but the press release indicates that the project will be transferred from SunEd to Terra on completion. I notice that the SunEd disclaimer talks about the risk of regulatory environment for SOLAR, not wind energy. There are those that consider that wind is driven by solar but SunEd's logo makes it look like the sun itself is under severe wind storm. When the First Wind - SunEd and TerraForm deal was first announced it sounded like SunEd would keep the projects until all the tax credits had been bilked, but I guess not. And SunEd just announced a huge joint venture with Gamesa that involves the manufacturer continuing in O&M role. Sounds like a good plan. Any word on O&M for First Wind's existing Maine projects?
I concur about the governor needing to take action.

So the long term deals are with SunEdison or with Terraform? Is this ownership maze to confuse regulators or to make the situation a convoluted mess for potential legal action? More of the same Enron business model from the wind cabal. I wish LePage would use Executive power to declare a moratorium on wind waste , even if only to get even with the ones who want to impeach him.

Vestas announced the sale of the V-112 turbine for Bingham, typically 492 ft tall from base to apex of the blade. These will sit up on the high ridges, 600 to 1,000 feet above the valleys below. From the Vestas announcement:
"US renewables major SunEdison has selected Vestas’ V112-3.3 MW turbine for the Bingham wind project in Somerset County, Maine. It has ordered 47 machines, which, together with components ordered from Vestas previously, will bring the wind park’s total capacity to 185 MW."
