North Carolina anti-wind bill would freeze development, devastate industry, say critics
North Carolina's beleaguered wind industry is heading for collapse should S.B. 377 become law.
A similar moratorium was put in place under former Maine Gov. Paul LePage, R, and though it was lifted a year later, renewable energy advocates said development in the state was noticeably stalled. North Carolina would be the first state legislature to impose such a ban.
"North Carolina would cease to have a wind industry, if the bill passed as is," Kollins said.

Why would North Carolina want wind power in the first place? They are part of the TVA Tennessee Valley Authority one of the largest hydro systems east of the Mississippi! They have said the south will rise again and this shows that they are smarter than the communists that control the north! With all the intellectually challenged that slobber over wind power Maine will be a wasteland of ugly windmills on destroyed mountains with more wild lands laid waste to than ten CMP corridors! But Mills and her band of communists will shove it down our collective throats!

What were these pro wind folks phantasizing about?
Forget about all those subsidies.
They are not worth ruining pristine ridge lines.
Also solar is not that great either, because it often is overcast, I.e., low capacity factors, just as New England.
