Greenies take a beating on fossil fuel divestment at Harvard

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/12/the_hoax_of_climat...

Is the green fraud finally dead? Probably not, but when you've got Harvard students rejecting a free-and-easy-to-sign petition for university divestment from fossil fuels - in droves - you know someone's wising up. Maybe this is the start of something.

Here's what the Washington Examiner reported:

In response to recent doomsday predictions by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a number of Harvard students decided to take matters into their own hands by calling on the administration to completely divest all financial holdings in industries associated with fossil fuels. According to the petition, Harvard has an obligation to divest its funds due to its significant role in the “global economy.”

...and...

Despite their efforts, a measly 166 individuals have signed on to their Change.org petition, which accounts for roughly 0.36 percent of the school’s 40,818 students and faculty. According to journalists for Harvard’s student newspaper, the Crimson, administrators have “flatly rejected” the idea of immediate divestment.

In any case, what it tells us is that the once-hot era of green paradise promised during the Obama administration's salad days is all done. Gone, unhip, boring.

Climate summit language reveals real but hidden agenda
People complain all the time about UN jargon. But the technical language of the Katowice, Poland climate summit is actually very revealing. It is all about changing the world order.

The largest negotiating group by far is called the G77 + China. Despite the old name, this group has 134 member countries. I have no idea why China gets special mention, except it is by far the most powerful member.

These are the countries that stand to benefit immensely from the new world order, because its central feature is enormous, never-ending payments from the so-called developed countries to the developing countries.

(I say so-called because the USA is still developing. It’s also important to recognize that the more these rich developed nations are forced to reduce their fossil fuel use, de-industrialize and pay money to developing countries like China, the less developed and wealthy they will become, the lower their living standards will be, the less they will be able to make the never-ending payments.)

Could it be that the "elites" are beginning to see their mantra exposed for what it is? Economically we can not sustain ourselves trying to eliminate the one thing that has made our society what it is, fossil fuel. When we enter the next ice age, which we are far closer to than the next tropical age, we will wish for much higher CO2 levels and fuel to keep us warm.

Be warned that one of the founders of the Harvard divestment movement has just been elected to represent District 88 in the Maine House: Chloe Maxmin.

(see: www.thenation.com/article/harvard-divestment-won/)

She works as a grassroots organizer with the nonprofit Campaign Earth, which is devoted to “building a climate justice movement in Maine”. She also worked on Bernie Sanders' presidential; campaign.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
