Tyler Kachnovich used a drone to capture this video of Canton Mt. Wind project.  He had posted it on Face Book.  Even under winter snow, the destruction to the ridge is clear.  The blades are spinning so slowly that it likely is producing little or no electricity.

Regarding met tower data, the Patriot Renewables met tower on Saddleback collapsed and was flat on the ground when PR held a public information meeting at the grange hall and stated that they were getting data daily from their tower, showing average wind speeds well above 40 miles per hour, better than off shore wind.  The tower had been down for several months, producing no data whatsoever, let alone data that proved Carthage was "the Saudi Arabia of Wind".  Snowboarders reported the tower down to a local who then hiked up and filmed it. This is one of the many reasons why the wind developers claim "proprietary information" in regards to their projects.  Pretty disgraceful. Brad's right, this data should be available to the tax payers as well as the officials who permit these projects.

All data would be posted online daily or at least weekly for the public to review.

Brad: Maybe the bill should include mandating matching instruments on all met towers. One unit would be used by "the company" and the other a sealed unit for the State agency monitoring the site.  The units, their upkeep and data collection would be paid for out of permit fees on all met towers.

Eric, note the placement of one of the turbines much lower than the others.  This is common in almost all of the Maine projects.  It just proves that they cram as many turbines into a site as possible to make the subsidy numbers better, regardless of alleged "wind potential".  The met tower data is NEVER divulged, hiding behind the principle of "proprietary information".  I say that ANY entity that takes in taxpayer dollars should make such information public, as the public "owns" it, in part.  I actually wrote a bill that included that, along with better public reporting of met towers, that got printed and assigned an LD number but never even got a hearing with the EUT Committee.  I will resurrect it when I am elected to the Maine Legislature.

This is the initial aka prototype https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/e/2PACX-1vR4crq39r9H4gL1... Public view. No participants from other states as of yet so I am thinking of allowing them to make a copy and become self-responsible when they get the ambition. Hopefully to link back to a Nationwide viewing portal. This is somewhat limited as to the number of entries depending on how many farms being monitored. I hope to expand this to allow up to 24 samplings per day if desired.

Where may we see the spreadsheet?

Under winter snow, the damage is more obvious.

This video seems to confirm that only 7 Turbines were erected rather than 8, however, this week Canton Mtn has been consistently the least productive as compared to its neighboring sites and maybe in Maine. In my new Spreadsheet design, I hope to be able to track each locations annual output more accurately.

Thanks, Tyler Kachnovich & Brad.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
