Brad Blake to Run for District 28 House Seat
Brad Blake of 3 Hearn Road declares his candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives District 28 representing part of Scarborough. The seat is currently held by Rep. Heather Sirocki, who cannot run again due to term limits. Blake is running as a Republican.
“I am excited by the prospect of meeting Scarborough neighbors and I will be honored to represent them in a thoughtful and effective way in Augusta.”
Brad Blake, 68, is a widower who has an adult daughter living in Virginia. He retired from Unum in 2017 after a varied career which included 15 years in Public Management. A seventh generation Mainer who is a native of Lincoln, Blake has lived in various parts of Maine and is a University of Maine graduate.
“My public administration background prepares me to understand government programs and provides me with valuable budget expertise I can use in the Legislature. It is a daunting task to determine how best to expend the state's limited tax revenues but I welcome the challenge.”
While always putting the best interests of Scarborough first, Blake believes it is important to understand the entire state. “All Legislators need to embrace the uniqueness of different parts of Maine, to recognize the barriers to better economic prosperity in other regions, and to create a business environment so all of the state prospers, not just Cumberland and York Counties. I believe my life experiences throughout the state will facilitate that process”
Brad Blake is a passionate outdoorsman who has been a citizen active in energy issues for ten years. He is a founder and former chair of the Citizens Task Force on Wind Power.
