Tux,

The people of Maine have already given the final review of the crooked wind industry and its cronies. Scientifically wind is a loser and can not provide enough energy to make a difference. The laws of physics prove it, but there are few people backing wind that have anything other than third grade science to lean on.
Tux,
The people of Maine have already given the final review of the crooked wind industry and its cronies. Scientifically wind is a loser and can not provide enough energy to make a difference. The laws of physics prove it, but there are few people backing wind that have anything other than third grade science to lean on. Wind is a very soft provider of power due the lack of density of the fuel. Gas, coal, nuclear and hydro provide a far more dense and continuous fuel for making electricity.
Besides, wind needs miles and miles of transmission lines which is the problem facing wind here in Maine right now. Maine is already producing more than 50% of its energy from "renewables", as Baldacci conveniently forgot to include our huge contribution from hydro power to the renewable list. The whole scheme was a plan to make a bunch of Baldacci's cronies very rich and stick the bill to the people of Maine. We don't need the power and since Mass does not want to help us with our need for Pennsylvania Gas, I say ***** them. If they want wind, have them build their own - - - - oh wait, they won't do that.
