Maine politicians are beginning to take notice of the impending statutory rape of the state's environment, economy, and iconic lifestyle being brought on by the corporate development of wind farms and transmission corridors designed to satisfy the green energy demands of the southern New England region.

Somerset County commissioners issued a resolution in September opposing wind turbines and transmission lines in the county and the Moosehead Lake region.

Piscataquis County commissioners issued a letter in October that unanimously opposes new wind turbines in the county and the Moosehead Lake region.

Opposition to wind farms and transmission line corridors in the Moosehead Lake region comes from legislators in Somerset and Piscataquis counties: Sen. Paul Davis, R- Sangerville; Rep. Joel Stetkis, R-Canaan; Rep. Chad Grignon, R-Athens; and Rep. Paul Sterns, R-Guilford.

The legislators issued an October 8 letter to Judith Judson, commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources. The legislators stated that wind farm and transmission line development would detrimentally impact the Moosehead region's natural and cultural attributes; the recreation and tourism industry, the Moosehead Lake aquifer, and viewscapes on the wilderness ridges. Wind turbine illumination would have a permanent adverse impact on the night sky. Development of a year-round sustainable tourist industry in the Moosehead region would be in jeopardy.
Do you think Mr. Pentland mig…tag:www.windtaskforce.org,2017-11-08:4401701:Comment:1131212017-11-08T00:06:30.276ZEskutassishttps://www.windtaskforce.org/profile/JimLutz688

Do you think Mr. Pentland might have a dog in the show? Maybe a little biased? You are absolutely right Arthur. Gov. LePage has made a difference, and now DJT will make the rest of the difference. Wind investor Warren Buffett said it best. "You can't make money on wind without the subsidies." I hope they will dry up with these new tax proposals. Except for our ridiculous "Republican" Senator, it should be a slam dunk.

Lepage should be congratulated for his efforts to end the graft and power cost increases by self serving shysters in the state.
