Tucker Carlson Tonight - Wind Power, Big Tech Censorship and Other Important Issues (8/17/18)

Earlier tonight, as I always try to do, I watched Tucker Carlson Tonight at 8PM Eastern on FNC. Tonight was a special edition of the program titled "Inside the Issues" which took "a deeper dive into some of the biggest matters affecting American life today".

Fittingly, Mr. Carlson led off with an insightful and courageous segment examining the censorship that has been taking place courtesy of "Big Tech", including the recent coordinated censorship of broadcaster Alex Jones. Carlson pointed out that "this isn't about Alex Jones or any one person but rather about the central principle of our society that is at stake here - do people have the right to communicate their views?"

If you are still awake, I strongly urge you to watch this telecast which re-airs at midnight. If you cannot do this, the following video captures the entire segment on Coordinated Censorship By Big Tech. This is a thoughtful and important piece from Tucker Carlson.

I also strongly recommend you try and watch Tucker Carlson Tonight every night. (8pm and 12mid Eastern Mon-Fri on Fox News Channel) The program is consistently and uncommonly excellent. Carlson is a very level headed and sensible observer of today's events with a natural divining rod for the truth and an uncanny ability to put things in their proper perspective. He's a walking antonym of groupthink - a fearless and independent thinker willing to take risks for what he believes is right.

Wind Power

The end of the program included a segment on wind power, including its noise, visual disturbance and general uselessness in generating power. But it primarily covered the ways that wind turbines are adversely impact U.S. military preparedness, including but not limited to its interference with military radar. Tucker's guest in this segment was Senator Donna Campbell, M.D. who spoke authoritatively about the problems wind turbines pose for our armed forces.

If I can find a video on the wind segment, I will add the weblink so please be sure to check back.

Update: here is a video weblink to the wind segment thanks to John Droz, Jr. and Frank Haggerty:

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
