Scotland Wind Energy and the Legend of Big Foot

How corrupt is the UK?   According to UK Wind energy research, the UK is a more corrupt democracy than the US.

With approximately 6000 MW of installed capacity, Scotland has as much installed wind energy capacity as the state of California.  At about 1/5 the size, this country has installed 5 times the density of deadly wind turbine rotor sweep per square mile as California. Most of this wind energy has been installed in prime golden eagle habitat that at one time held over 400 breeding pairs of golden eagles.

This might be very reassuring for people in the UK because.................."To date, there have been no recorded Golden Eagle fatalities at Scottish wind farms although local displacement has been reported (Fielding & Haworth 2010, 2015)."

And to the delight of bird lovers in the UK……………." A complete survey of Golden Eagles Aquila chrysaetos in Britain in 2015 found that the population had increased by 15% since 2003 to 508 territorial pairs."
These quotes were taken from "Status of Golden Eagle Aquila chrysaetos in Britain in 2015.
Here in the US, even a contrived a 2008 California study  using wind energy methodology (undersized search areas with 14-15 day search intervals) , 38 newly operational 1 MW turbines located in golden eagle habitat, still reported 4 eagles fatalities in 9 months. These new generation large turbines being labeled as “bird safe turbines” and "bird friendlier" in the media, had replaced 179 older model and much smaller wind turbines. The ramifications from this wind turbine study were hidden.

The image shown below is one of those eagle fatalities take from the report filed with Contra Costa County. In 2008, California was said (USFWS estimates) to have a population of over 2000 eagles, yet fewer than 100 active golden eagle nests could be verified in the entire state.  This eagle expert has not seen a migrating golden eagle in Shasta County CA since March 2011 and any new accurate eagle population studies for CA, have been avoided like the Ebola plague.

As for Scotland’s 6000 MW's of wind turbines not killing any golden eagles, the legend of “Big Foot” is just as believable. How do I know? I am an eagle expert and I knew two of the people that helped rig the famous Big Foot footage and footprints in the snow decades ago.

The government approved 50m search radius, is one of UK tricks that was used in Canada to hide tens of thousand of wind turbine carcasses at Wolfe Island. Another trick..........To just not do any research and to pay conservation groups to say nothing.

“Our members have witnessed dead raptors under turbines and up to 200 yards from turbine masts – way beyond the 50m radius operators are recommended to search and report.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
