Plan to run power lines from Canada through N.H. faces hurdles in 2014
Opponents who fear the project would scar the outdoors brace for a fight.

After a three-year review, ISO New England announced Dec. 31 that it had approved the interconnection application, meaning Northeast Utilities can continue pursuing the project. The ISO decision also requires the project to submit more detailed plans.
That decision shocked Dan Dolan, president of the New England Power Generators Association and part of the reliability committee that did not secure the needed two-thirds vote to support the interconnection application.
Dolan said the ISO has never overruled the committee in 15 years and noted the Northern Pass is not explicitly related to grid reliability but is an elective project.

THe NORTHERN Pass Project is one of Most Ambitous Projects evcer undertaken in this Country! It will equivelant to the ALASKA Pipeline Project! The FERC/PUC/Nh a a dozen other powerfull regulatory agencies both Federal and State Will be in Totall control at all times! The Very Short Term Benefits are VERY Few and Very Short Lived for N.H. Residents but the LONG Term Benefits for Mass.,Coonn,R.I.,N.Y. and N.J. will be be very PRONOUNCED- for a very long time! The People of the State of N.H. Will have to Endure for a very long time the dubious distinction of being nothing more than a perpetual CONDUIT..A conduit that is Going to be inherently rife with All types of Environmental Problems for Openers. THE FERC Must insist on a FEDERAL E.I.S. on the FEASABILITY and the long term affects on the People and the Environment of the STATE of N.H.!!
