How does this produce "REAL" employment?

The Number Nine project in Bridgewater is supposed to be a big boost to employment in the County.  There will be 300 TEMPORARY jobs to build the project and the 50 mile spur to hook up to the grid.  As in the past, most of these jobs will be filled from out of state and the 16 PERMANENT jobs will probably only be half filled by locals.  There is $2 million to be distributed to the locals to put in heat pumps and upgrade their homes for heat.  That is a pretty small amount and would only cover costs for about 400 homes.  They make it sound so grandiose, but for all the foreign jobs for the manufacturing and the fact that all the power is going to Connecticut, we in Maine are going to be paying higher rates and taxes.  Read below the lies.

Did it ever occur to anyone to note that heat pumps are useless in climates where temperatures consistently fall below zero F?  The offer for heat pumps is a cruel slam.

In Vermont we had to deal with the despicable rabble from Reed and Reed out of Maine who came here to destroy Lowell Mountain for 21 junk wind turbines that belong to Gaz Metro out of Canada.  Talk about the jobs lie!

It hasn't it doesn't it won't - The same construction jobs recycled!

These temporary jobs, may not even go to Maine people other than the dirty work of the destruction. The Heat Pumps that are currently being encouraged and subsidized by our tax dollars, too are a fraud in the bigger picture. In Maine, Geothermal systems should  be used where there is a below earth constant temp. Heat from the summer stored below and the 56 degree natural temp would require a 14 (or less) degree exchange difference vs extraction of heat from 30 degree air temp when available, to require an exchange of 40 degrees. These could be powered from small solar / wind. But first Corporate America must sell their Fraud to the State who in turn convinced that this is the latest greatest, by not being informed or knowledged in the technology, are told they are doing the people what is best.

It seems that the reason CT wants this power, is they have as of 2013 the second highest rates in the Nation, just behind Hawaii with all its wind. Their rates are due to go higher with the elimination of their last coal fired facility. As Coal is eliminated, other states will see this rise in rates also. For the first time in history, Renewables surpassed Coal (in April 2015) for electrical generation (not other fossil fuels) The ability to stake claims to this profit is being captured by other corporations, at the expense of others while also laying claim to the land, piece by piece, inch by inch. This is not about freedom and jobs for the people, but rather a global corporate enslavement of the people. Free Trade agreements are the instrument of the unification of a Global Corporate controlled governance. One that will supercede the sovereignty of any nations government.

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
