When listening to the Report on the news on Television, it seems that this upgrade is for the company's benefit to make their company more efficient in their day to day activities.
This an expense that should be burdened by the company as an operating expense, which in a normal business would be taken from an expense account, and from the profits that would normally go to the stockholders. One that gets a tax write-off from the IRS, however it seems this is a company improvement that is to be paid for by the consumer, now nearly doubled of their initial proposal.
This improvement in the company's operations has nothing to do with the product or its delivery, but is a capital asset that should the company be resold, holds a resale value.
The orig proposal to bilk the consumer for a corporate increase in value should be Scrapped as well, and the company should be required to pay from their shareholder profits. (Canada or up the line)
