Hydro-Quebec says it has plenty of capacity for New England

Hydro-Quebec says it's bringing 13 more hydroelectric plants online and has untapped potential for others, but opponents of the 145-mile transmission line through Maine say that's no guarantee more clean energy will be generated.....................“We have excess (hydropower) energy in Quebec that we can’t get out,” Serge Abergel, director of public affairs for Hydro-Quebec, told the editorial board of the Portland Press Herald. “We’re ‘spilling’ water. We’re unable to get it to our export markets because we’re limited by our transmission lines.”....................................

Well look at this!!!  https://www.nationalobserver.com/2018/12/06/news/construction-major...

The developers of a long-delayed project to deliver hydroelectric power from Quebec to New York City say that construction will start in 2020.

First unveiled in 2008, the Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) is a proposed 536-kilometre underground high-voltage line to supply customers in New York City with hydroelectricity generated in Quebec dams by provincial utility provider Hydro-Québec.

When demand is high, Hydro-Québec is using existing lines to the U.S. at their "full potential." - #cleanpower #energy #environment

Despite approvals by the New York Public Service Commission in 2013 and key federal permits in late 2014 and early 2015, construction on the transmission line by Albany-based Transmission Developers Inc. (TDI), remains behind its original schedule....

So, they could just as well run a second set of cables right next to this set and give the Mass-Holes the power they want!  SCREW CMP!

Willem and Dan, we all know that Voorhees is a paid shill of the wind industry.  It is in his job description to perpetrate the lies of the wind industry.  It is not sheer coincidence that NRCM. which once had a stellar reputation for advocating for protection of Maine's natural resources, suddenly hired a "Clean Energy Director" just after the heinous "Wind Energy Act" was created.  Mr. Voorhees works in complete tandem with Maine Renewable Energy Association director Jeremy Payne, actively promoting the destruction of Maine's natural and scenic resources for the sake of the wind power scam.

If NRCM had any corporate integrity, they would disclose the funding they receive from the wind industry and their cronies.  Pigs will fly over Katahdin before that will ever happen.

I don't know why Voorhees is exclaiming false and uninformed  statements about the generation from this project. He never provides evidence, He has no facts. People need to be concerned about  his hidden motives. The way the democrats and the chairs of the EUT swoon over him like a messiah is sickening, I am certain when people who struggle to pay the electric bills discover his disdain for their plight, his worthless, lying mission will come to an end.

Voorhees is a total idiot and fear monger.

He obviously is not an engineer and displays near zero knowledge of power grids

The HQ power mix is about 98% hydro, which has a generation cost of about 2.5 c/kWh, per HQ 2017 annual report.

Any generator connected to the HQ grid will affect the mix in just a tiny way.

HQ has been and would be sending the MIX to its Canadian users and to users in the US.

It is utterly inane HQ would send us coal energy, or whatever

Their Hydro fleet also includes 26 large reservoirs with a combined storage capacity of 175 TWh, as well as 656 dams and 97 control structures.

Look at the destruction they have done by covering their province with water. As a First Use, rather than a last resort.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT (excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010  http://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?"  http://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” http://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/

Sign up today and lend your voice and presence to the steadily rising tide that will soon sweep the scourge of useless and wretched turbines from our beloved Maine countryside. For many of us, our little pieces of paradise have been hard won. Did the carpetbaggers think they could simply steal them from us?

We have the facts on our side. We have the truth on our side. All we need now is YOU.
