Led by Governor Shumlin, Vermont passed Act 56 which requires 90% of electrical energy to come from renewable sources by 2050. As this article points out, Vermont lacks the transmission capability to do so.  Why should the rate payer bear the cost for private companies?  AND it is true the needed storage capability does not exist yet.

FERC has approved the sale of Passadumkeag Wind Holdings LLC to Sun Edison and its investor Summit Natural Gas. This will be interesting! Can the tanking Sun Edison really participate in this deal given its financial condition? Or is Summit Natural Gas on its own?  Hmm -  Summit Natural Gas and Wind - lead by none other than Kurt Adams!…

The University  of Maine receives additional funds to further off shore wind turbine development - But still needs $47 Million more in DOE grant funds if the project is to be built.…

So it was Plum Creek who complained...And the rest we know - Moosehead regions citizens first amendment rights violated - I think we'll be hearing a lot more about this!

Think hard about this!  Maine is 3rd in carbon capture in the nation and we are 7th in carbon emissions. 48% of our emissions comes from the transportation sector, 14% from electrical sector, and 14% from the residential sector. There may yet be hope for anti wind signs posted  in the Moosehead region! Apparently there is a recent US Supreme Court ruling REED vs.Town of Gilbert, that may find MDOTS sign regulations violate First Amendment rights! Oops - someone didn't get the memo!
