Incidental take...the ever changing legal perspective on bird kill as it affects wind turbines.

Very briefly, environmentalists, primarily bird conservation groups have expanded the 1918 migratory bird law which makes it illegal to "pursue, hunt, take, capture [or] kill" any of more than 1,000 covered bird species, but courts have disagreed over whether such actions need to be intentional.

They have argued that oil spills, fracking and numerous other harmful impacts on bird populations must be punished, regardless of the original intent to halt…

Why is SunEdison/First Wind giving away so much money to so called environmental groups in Maine?

Layoffs at SunEdison as Investors Question the Renewable Energy Developer’s Strategy

Why is a company that has to lay off so many of its workers giving so much money away to so called environmental groups in Maine?

It started off as a normal gathering. People mingled at multiple bars. A house band played on a small stage upstairs. Waiters handed out meat on sticks.

Suddenly, all the…

Four workers injured following fire at Sun Edison plant in Pasadena

Our thoughts and prayers are with the workers.

What sort of safety problems might be lurking in Sun Edison's (First Wind's) wind turbines throughout Maine?

An excellent editorial on the false promise of wind power.

Vermont is on the move ...to common sense . I listened to Blittersdorf at the Addison county Democrats meeting a month ago,. He does not believe in adverse health effects of noise and gets angry when confronted with the power of MRI imaging to demonstrate brain responses when humans are exposed to very low frequencies (8 Herz). He calls people anti wind zealots when proper questions regarding emissions saving and definition of Public Good are sent to him. He wants 3000 MW of wind for…

Censored Post --Concerning Property Values, Wind turbines, and Blatant Liars!(This post was censored out of Ellsworth American BTW, so enjoy!)

Blatant Unrepentant Liars

I recently sold a property 2.2 miles from a wind project at 1/2 its accessed evaluation( and I was lucky to sell it at all)

Anyone who believes First Wind/SunEdison / Terraform Power is "nummah than a hake" or a past patient of a frontal lobotomy. Remember this too , infra sound (low frequency noise emitted by these massive feckless turbines) is heard and annoying up to 2.5 miles by many people. Those within 4000 feet (the golden distance for litigation…

Mass Governor conspiring with First Wind to destroy Maine so Mass citizens can feel "green"

From the archives -- wasn't First Wind (now Sun Edison) CEO Paul Gaynor some sort of green energy adviser to then Mass Governor Deval Patrick?

Who are these people destroying Maine?

EXCERPTS:

Time is running out for Gov. Deval Patrick’s clean energy bill, and he is starting to sound a little worried about its prospects.

I caught up with him today as he…

How was Maine's Expedited Wind Area drawn up?

How that map got drawn is not clear from the official record of the task force’s meetings. That’s because summaries for the last two meetings don’t exist, says task force chair Alec Giffen’s secretary, Rondi Doiron...... Maine Audubon’s Jody Jones described the process as “I want this in, I want this out.” Whatever the process looked and sounded like is lost to the public record because no minutes were taken or recorded.

Much more here:…

Feel Good Energy Policy

"Will Maine legislators ever wise up to the fact that our feel-good state energy policy is draining hundreds of millions of dollars from Maine’s economy and billions from the New England economy? As giant turbines continue to proliferate on more and more of our mountains and smiling wind developers pocket vast amounts of taxpayer and ratepayer money that should have been invested instead in more dependable forms of clean energy, one has to wonder."…

More Closed Mills, Higher Energy costs and failed Energy Policy To Take a Serious Economic Toll in NE

Mainer's Are About to pay dearly for their legislated  "Greenwashed" Renewable  Wind Power policy.   Industrial Wind, a feckless scam in Maine ,is adding to the pain. Industrial wind expansion in Maine must end , and dense fuel expansion such as natural gas must be placed online rapidly , or Maine's economy will get worse , much worse.

See below please, and hang onto your pocketbooks this winter.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
