Campaign to persuade Maine Attorney General Mills to introduce a Code of Conduct for Wind

I have just begun a campaign to persuade Attorney General Janet Mills to introduce a Code of Conduct governing the relationships between elected officials & wind company officials.

I am going to write up a Petition and put it up on the petition site. Does anybody want to help me write the Petition? I have been looking at NY State's code but wonder whether Maine's will need to include a class of Politicians that the NY code doesn't focus on. The NY code talks about Municipal… Continue

Wind power 101

WIND POWER 101

What will wind power do to the electric industry and your cost of electricity ? The electric industry relies on instantaneous supply to match instantaneous demand for perfect efficient operation. Unlike other commodities, electricity can not be inventoried to satisfy demand in the future.

Wind powered electricity is created only when the wind blows at the spot of the turbine and this is not a 24/7 event. Wind turbines, such as proposed for our mountain tops… Continue

New Poll......

Is there any thought about having a new poll done? By a more neutral pollster? I'm not sure if it would help stop these projects and realize that it might not work in our favor -- but surely it's got to be better than the '90% in favor' that the proponents keep throwing around.

Poll about wind towers....

So who did the original poll that showed that 90% of Mainers were in support of wind towers?? It seems very high to me -- but maybe that's just my biased opinion of what the state thinks. Is it possible to repeat this poll - surely it has to come in lower than 90% - especially if it's done by someone who is not specfically 'pro-wind' --

Highlands Plantation....

I just got forwarded a 'Notice of Intent to file a Development Permit Application' - originally sent out by Marcia Spencer-Famous. This is for a 48 utility scale wind turbines in Highland Plantation, Me - permit is supposed to be in around December 18, 2009 and will include timing and rules for a request for a public hearing. Not sure if anyone is specifically fighting this -- I am going to go ahead and ask to be a person of interest - from what I understand from the Stetson II debacle -- this… Continue

Underhanded "Power Elite" in Maine

It must be remembered that Maine already produces an excess of power, which is exported. The corporate/lobbyist driven Industrial Wind move in Maine, with the power elite structure at the helm is misdirected. Let us all remember whose state this is. Mainers!

The power elite, drooling to make their money while the myth of Industrial wind still exists, has perverted the process. Blowtoys are just a financially expedient means of FAD theoretical power production, applied for the… Continue

Perverted Legal Process Leads to Perverted Actions

In Maine , the "Expedited Process" is a result of perverted legal process by inside dealers wishing to circumvent the legal processes of our Maine State Constitution.

Haste Makes Waste.

The drooling "Wind Zombies" can be extinguished by a simple weapon, TRUTH , in their face! They cower from it!

Wind Industry propaganda LIES and indeed corruption are now being exposed. Mainers will not allow the lies… Continue

The Relentless Lying of "The Wind Mafia"

The social marketing of Industrial Wind and their ability to lie to the public about it results in the neighborhood and environmental disasters that will continue unless the average citizen takes back his/her rights from the scam called Industrial Wind. Remember Enron? It is now Enron East!

The Wind Industry is based on lying in the Energy Marketplace, and perpetuating the lies. There is no standard of truth telling permitted. There is no Ethics or Science used by them, just their own… Continue

character

just read Transcanada's proposal to LURC to construct a wind farm on Sisk Mountain. One aspect never brought up in their proposal is the value of character. Does a geographical feature have character ? I have worked for developers in Rangeley and Bethel, constructing subdivision roads. In Rangeley, the prime concern for any developer is being able to locate a subdivision which creates lots with a view of Rangeley Lake and backdrop views of the mountains beyond. The overall scene appeals to so… Continue

Chinese Wind Farms Require Coal Fired Plants

Below are some excerpts of this article from http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=121244275

Sound familiar?

Coal fired plants needed due to wind farms in China (www.npr.org)

Nature is unpredictable: Sometimes there is no wind; other times, it's so strong the turbines have to be shut down. Because China's transmission power grid can't… Continue

KGB of WIND

THE KGB OF WIND

Maine has a saying "The Way Life Should Be"

But there is a governor whose name is "Baldacci."

He has wheeled and dealed and snuck the wind laws through.

His legacy will be blowing the mountain tops off too.

Preserve and conserve should be his game.

Instead he would rather sell Maine to Canada and Spain.

No jobs to be had so Roxbury has learned!

Mr. King and Mr. Gardiner need more bailout money for Record Hill Wind

“ We have 100 years of natural gas available to us. We need to tap into that supply and begin to make ourselves more energy efficient. “ These are the words of John Kerry, director of the state energy office, to the Rumford Area Rotary.

I wonder if Mr. Kerry’s statements has Mr. King and Mr. Gardiner, developers of the Record Hill Wind Project in Roxbury, a bit concerned. Mr. King attributed the one year delay to his project to the economic slowdown and the drop in natural gas… Continue

I want to erect a wind mill

You want to erect a WT which costs 2 million dollars. you get 30% back by federal grant ($600,000.00 ) you get 2.1 cents per kilowatt produced . You have a 1.5 MW turbine expected to produce 4880 MW/hr per year. at 20 years, the PTC amount is $2,049,600.00. A 2 million dollar, 1.5 MW WT pays you $2,649,600.00 in taxpayer earnings.

You know people who want to buy your green energy and you offer them renewable energy certificates at a price. but you are not delivering green energy to them.… Continue

NORTH ATTLEBORO – World War I Memorial Park will not be home to a wind turbine, after all.

Businessman Michael Bedard, who initially approached the park commission with a proposal to build a 250-foot wind turbine near sunrise hill, told the board Wednesday that the site on Sunrise Hill is not right for the project.

“My conclusion is: Great idea, wrong location. It’s not going to fit there,”… Continue

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
