Clean Energy???

The “Clean Energy” bill will not be on the November ballot in Maine in 2012 because the required number of signatures could not be mustered. I believe this happened because most Mainer’s have come to realize that this would not have been a “clean energy” bill at all. Maybe it should have been called the “Wind Industry Initiative “bill or the “Clean Energy Hoax” bill. However that may be, it is clear that the “clean energy bill” is a complete and misleading misnomer.

Industrial wind…

Today, David Farmer said, “We can’t predict the future but we do know that investment in efficiency is most cost effective and that’s for homeowners and business,” Farmer said. “That’s an idea that’s not going away.”

That is right on, David. Good you noticed. Since Industrial turbines have no efficiency whatsoever,…

Spain Halts Renewable Subsidies to Curb $31 Billion of Debts

January 27, 2012, 12:50 PM EST

By Ben Sills

Jan. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Spain halted subsidies for renewable energy projects to help curb its budget deficit and rein in power-system borrowings backed by the state that reached 24 billion euros ($31 billion) at the end of 2011.…

CO2 Hoax

After a month of dealing with the Dell from Hell that refused to enable JavaScript, I can at last say what I have been chomping at the bit to say. WIND TURBINES DO NOT SEQUESTER CO2! Not one molecule! Tell a big lie, tell it soon, repeat it often, louder and louder and some people who have too much to do to just survive will tend to accept the lie. Carbon credits are pure corruption. Using the fossil fuels to mine the special materials, refine them, manufacture them into a turbine, transport…

Our Wonderful PUC - Some Must Reading About How Mainers Got Played by the Previous Administration on Wind

Wind power will send Maine's high energy costs FAR FAR higher.

Wind power is just a scam that lines the pockets of Baldacci cronies like his former Chief of Staff Kurt Adams who took over $ 1million in stock options from his then future employer First Wind while Chairman of the PUC. While there, Adams helped grease the skids for the $1.5 billion CMP transmission upgrade. It was needed solely for Baldacci's wind friends who without…

FERC website details -for information on turbines' REAL OUTPUT.

I have learned a bit more about the FERC website.

If you go to: http://www.ferc.gov/docs-filing-/eqr/data/spreadsheet.asp  you get a webpage that has quarterly/monthly (?) data on power sales by all of the large power plants in the USA, for the past ten years or so.  All large power producers are required to report this information to FERC, and it is public.

After selecting a producer (see below),…

UMPI turbine turning, website not working

On a visit to the UMPI campus today (Jan. 22) the turbine was not moving at 1:00 PM.   It was turning at apparant full speed at 4:30 when we left. Whether it was producing power or not is a mystery. The turbine website does not have any recent information on it at all; the latest was the report of 94,620 KWH produced as of December 29.

Energy Savings a Hoax

Vinalhaven has reported in the 2 years since the Wind Turbines were started the local electrical rate has doubled. It appears that the money being doled  out to the supporters of the Oakfield project will quickly see the $ gain disappear between rate increases and  taxes on unearned income both state and federal.  What is wrong with the legislature in not protecting the taxpayers and the enviornment of Maine.

Maine Center For Public Interest Reporting – Three Part Series: A CRITICAL LOOK AT MAINE’S WIND ACT

******** IF LINKS BELOW DON'T WORK, GOOGLE THEM*********

(excerpts) From Part 1 – On Maine’s Wind Law “Once the committee passed the wind energy bill on to the full House and Senate, lawmakers there didn’t even debate it. They passed it unanimously and with no discussion. House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, a Democrat from North Haven, says legislators probably didn’t know how many turbines would be constructed in Maine if the law’s goals were met." . – Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, August 2010 https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-power-bandwagon-hits-bumps-in-the-road-3/From Part 2 – On Wind and Oil Yet using wind energy doesn’t lower dependence on imported foreign oil. That’s because the majority of imported oil in Maine is used for heating and transportation. And switching our dependence from foreign oil to Maine-produced electricity isn’t likely to happen very soon, says Bartlett. “Right now, people can’t switch to electric cars and heating – if they did, we’d be in trouble.” So was one of the fundamental premises of the task force false, or at least misleading?" https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/wind-swept-task-force-set-the-rules/From Part 3 – On Wind-Required New Transmission Lines Finally, the building of enormous, high-voltage transmission lines that the regional electricity system operator says are required to move substantial amounts of wind power to markets south of Maine was never even discussed by the task force – an omission that Mills said will come to haunt the state.“If you try to put 2,500 or 3,000 megawatts in northern or eastern Maine – oh, my god, try to build the transmission!” said Mills. “It’s not just the towers, it’s the lines – that’s when I begin to think that the goal is a little farfetched.” https://www.pinetreewatchdog.org/flaws-in-bill-like-skating-with-dull-skates/
